I see these sarcastic replies but not an actual response like: Hi, we have forwarded your issues to the devs, and we are awaiting response. Instead we are getting these type of replies. And please don’t steer away from the the topic;. OP posting about wheel requests which should be provided by the game by default. To think that a user has to spam about wheel support is shameful enough.
We’re forum moderators, not middlemen between players and developer. While we do have regular contact with the developers, we’re not going to pass along every single request as that alone would be a full-time job. Want to make sure the developer knows about your request? Use the stickied wish lists at the top of the page. That’s where they look for ideas and feedback, not transient forum threads.
Maybe it should turn into a full time job during the first month or so of launch. These aren’t just complaints from this game. These are ongoing complaints for years now. I’m always seeing the same things: more accurate exhausts, more wheel choices, better customization. And nothing seems to change. When we, the customers who employee those working for PG/T10 see years of complaints and criticism go seemingingly unnoticed (to us… I don’t remember ever seeing a post from developers telling us they are listening and what they will do to fix the issues) we get upset and frustrated. I understand moderator frustration as well. I’m sure reading complaints over and over gets exhausting. But, for at least me, it seems like we are yelling into an empty void where criticism gets lost and feedback isn’t taken seriously. This is the first time I’ve read that you, the moderators, actually have communication with developers. It would be great to have a post from you guys explaining that process. And maybe give us feedback on what developers are saying in response to our requests and feedback.
At the end of the day, thank you for your work and efforts as moderators. We know these forums wouldn’t be available without you guys.
I would guess that there are folks devoted to going through social media and forums looking for feedback.
“When we, the customers who employee those working for PG/T10…” - The people who frequent forums make up a very small percentage of the overall userbase. Respectfully, let’s not inflate our egos into thinking that our impact is that high. I would venture to guess that a vast majority of users frankly don’t care about the suggestions you mentioned.
People are yelling into an empty void because they’re yelling into a forum that is constantly moving instead of using the wishlist topic and other designated topics, which I believe the mods confirmed are where devs will often look. I’d be willing to bet this topic itself disappears in a day or two into forum oblivion. If there are suggestions that have been consistent over multiple game iterations, then I’m guessing the devs are aware of said suggestions and have a reason for not implementing it. They are not obligated to tell us every single decision behind the game making process.
Then there should be a stickied post which represents “Constructive Criticism” or “Post your Foza Horizon/Motorsport Complains”, assuming these threads will be read by the devs since you just said they only lurk on the “Stickied Posts”
Mods are people, too. Dealing with people spamming complaints everywhere is frustrating, I’m sure.
Odds are there is background to this you are not aware of.
Basically, don’t make complaint topics in a highly transient forum and then complain when they’re not seen. Let’s be real, here. I’m sure the developers are plenty aware of the things people are saying based on forum traffic, social media, etc.
(And Forza 4 is definitely not the best Forza, and I played ~1000 hours on it. But that’s a discussion for another time and place)
What I see on this forum, is a lot of rude, childish and offensive comments about FH4. Please thread people (developers and other players) with respect. The developers made changes and add new features for us the players, with good intentions. I am sure they are listing to the community as they did in the past.
Remember its launch week and probably a rather stressful period for T10.
If you have feedback, note it with respect and decency.
And the community needs to learn to use the search function and add their posts to existing threads about the same topic to avoid polluting the forum. Most of the work mods here have to do is move posts to another thread because of that, which helps no one.
And you are never alone, OP, but you are never really the overwhelming majority either. This is a game that will have a 2 million community early on, up to 7 million later. There is no “valid criticism” because for everything you will have a huge part of the community that is perfectly fine with how it is. It’s not about doing what the majority wants, it’s about what is making the most sense for everyone. I am sure adding the option to leave team adventure after doing one is on their list. But loads of what I have seen come down to personal preference or even technical limitations.
To be honest I have not read this type of posts lately, maybe in Technical Support & Help these happen,
but I do not look like this because, just as fh3 worked well, I do not have problems with fh4 too ( technical)
I am worried about a few gameplay shortcomings
what is missing:
competitions in which you can compete with each other individually and not team
selection of races due to the car class
choice of seasons and the type of competition in which you want to participate
collision-free (off) mode
old rival system, with the choice of each car for every road
many people do not know that they can report problems or do not know where to report them, but that does not change the fact that there are no such problems. If the creators presented what will not be in FH4 what was in FH3 I would not even buy FH4 and play happily in FH3. and I feel that I threw $ 100 away
I would like to put my two cents to this. I keep my criticism as constructive and respectful as possible and keep one list of car sounds (updated constantly in Engine Sound thread and as suggested by moderator in Features Wishlist) that I and others would like to fix. Being disrespectful to devs is never the good way. They still do what they can and did amazing work on the game (the map is superb). All I hope for is that they can make it even better by updating those sounds with good files from previous titles.
I would like an option as to what type of race I queue up for in adventures, preferably solo. Getting free roam rush and just on teams is a bit annoying and just makes me not want to play it.
There is a difference between adding constructive criticism to a discussion, and just complaining for the sake of complaining. Many of the topics on here seem to be the latter, and frankly they get annoying to see all the time.
It’s also important to note that the displeased are often the most vocal and can give a non-realistic impression of the majority opinion.
That being said, I’m sure the developers are keeping an eye on social media and these forums to get feedback. Neither Turn10 or Playground Games have struck me as companies who just ignore everyone but themselves.
The Wish Lists are the best place to post requests as that is ultimately the first place checked for ideas and feedback, that doesn’t mean they don’t collect impressions from other sources, including threads on the forums. Right now though, when the forums are at their busiest, few threads if any will survive an entire day on the front page and the vast majority slip into obscurity within and hour or two. Plastering your complaint or criticism from one thread to another, spamming it as it were. does nothing but dilute your efforts while at the same time putting your posting privileges at risk. The developers are simply not going to try to follow all that from day to day, it’s hard enough for us moderators to do so and we look at the forums all day long.
