So I turned on my xbox and started up Forza 5 and a message pops up and says “The saved data we have in cloud is different from the data on this xbox” there are 3 options for me to pick from
Forza Motorsport 5
This console/jJun 12 2014
Older
Forza motorsport 5
Xbox live / jun 12 2014
Newer
Stop syncing.
That is exactly what all 3 options say and I am not going to click one because I am scared of all the data being wiped away which I have heard from hundreds of people on this forum is a HUGE issue and I don’t want to be next.
I don’t think it wants to delete anything; it appears to be asking which save file you would like to load and, subsequently, sync. I would choose the file that says ‘newer’; but, obviously, you can hold out for more advice.
Was your console disconnected for a prolonged period of time?
I have had that before and went with newer and all was ok. But I can not guarantee that for you.
My friend who lost all cars had a different message that said something like save device full do you want to.continue. He said yes without thinking and it restarted his game from scratch.
Change title? It clearly states that the XBL save-game is NEWER. For whatever reason. So it’s not ready to wipe.
Just a thought; but always hard to answer for most people: you did lose internet-connection while playing and/or after starting the console before this message came up?
Sounds logical… Game was sent to the cloud, you maybe clicked a few more options in the main menu of Forza, powercycled it and was now unable to determine the status of the console. This could (but I cannot confirm this 100%) also be due to NTP going haywire depending on the DNS/gateway configured for your internet-connection.
Personally, I don’t use NTP on my network and try to steer clear from it as well on my corporate LANs; unfortunately too many managers think differently about it even though Microsoft itself says their implmentation of NTP isn’t a real time service.
