Changes in FH4's Festival Playlist, and Delisting From Digital Stores | June 2024 Announcement

Done but the timing of the issue is a more than a bit suss

Why didn’t you guys give players a heads up about the delisting before you took the Hot Wheels pack offline? At least give players a chance to buy it before you take if offline.

It doesn’t seem to be an ownership issue. I’ve owned VIP since it came out, the Microsoft store knows I own it, and I’ve made sure it’s installed but still when I try to select a VIP car it tells me i need to go to the marketplace, which then shows an error.

I own all the Playlist exclusives, and I have more than enough copies of my favorite models.

However, I think that in this final update, all the exclusive cars should have been added to the Auto Show, not the Backstage Pass.
Because each car can only be redeemed once in the Backstage Pass. If a player uses up that opportunity, the only option left is to use the AH. However, all the cars listed on the AH are other players. In other words, it is unpredictable and unstable whether the car you want will be listed.

I always say this, but not all players play with a “one car per model” play style.
Forza in particular is a game that is attractive because you can freely upgrade and customize cars, such as tuning and livery editor, so there are many players who want many copies of their favorite models.

So wait…those Mitsubishi and Hot Wheels packs aren’t part of the Ultimate Edition, but they were removed from sale before the announcement was even made? Scratch what I said about giving advanced notice, that’s just ridiculous. Why in the world would you do things like that? Why suddenly remove the DLC when the game itself will still be available for purchase for months? Are new players going to be given another way to access those cars if they don’t have them yet?

Can you please relist the 2 packs (Hot Wheels Legends & Mitsubishi Motors) not included with the ultimate edition on steam?
I understand delisting them on xbox since you don’t want people being able to get a “free” token but for everyone on steam we’re just getting burnt.

The fact that you guys delisted all the DLC without any warning makes me so mad. Now I’m forever without the DLCs that weren’t included in the Ultimate edition including the Mitsubishi car pack. Thanks for being a bunch of jerks, you guys. So annoying.

So, back when FH4 was still the current Horizon game, I bought it. I bought it on the Microsoft store because it wasn’t available on Steam at the time. I really liked the game and I played it a lot. When FH5 released, I bought it on Steam because I heavily dislike the Microsoft store. I had always planned on rebuying FH4 on Steam at some point because I wanted to have the game on Steam, just so everything was in the same place.

When they announced today that the game was going to be delisted, and that it was being sold for 80% off, I was like “cool, this is the perfect time for me to buy it on Steam” so I did. After doing that, I am now very, very angry. Why? Well, the reason why is because now I am completely unable to claim some DLCs. There are DLCs that were added to FH4 that aren’t included in the Ultimate Edition. Those being the Mitsubishi car pack and the Hot Wheels car pack, and because me (and probably a lot of other people) held off for a sale to rebuy the game, we are now permanently punished by not having access to the entire game. How is this fair? How is this not extremely mean? Especially because the Mitsubishi car pack was free? It’s such a slap in the face for players like me who were waiting for the price to drop so we could get back into the game.

I personally am going to wait, but if they don’t come up with some sort of solution to allow players to get access to the DLCs that weren’t included in the Ultimate Edition, I’m going to just refund my Steam purchase. I just don’t want to play the game if I don’t have access to Mitsubishi. Call me dramatic all you want, but I think this is a massive slap in the face and I guarantee you that there is some way they could fix this without making Mitsubishi and Hot Wheels mad. I wouldn’t be mad about it if they gave us all a warning a couple of weeks in advance that the DLCs were being delisted, but they didn’t. They gave us no warning at all, just a sudden delisting. I’m so mad right now, and I don’t think I’m unjustified in my anger here.

It’s always a shame to hear, but at least the online resources will remain, and hopefully for many years to come.

No, you have every right to be mad. The move makes absolutely no sense. I bought a copy on Steam as a backup despite already having everything on the MS Store, but there’s no reason that new players should be punished like this.

The thing is, I guarantee you there’s a way they can solve this. I highly doubt that they licensed Mitsubishi and the Hot Wheels cars for less time than every single other car in the game. That just doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s possible of course, but I highly doubt that’s what’s going on here. I think they just delisted everything without thinking about it, and now there’s plenty of new players who can’t access Mitsubishi or the Hot Wheels cars in FH4 ever unless they find some way to pirate the DLC. It’s just sad, disappointing and unfair.

I’d forgotten that the Mitsubishi pack was free for all players, so this makes even less sense now.

Yup… an absolute slap in the face on their part.

If you paid for a car and PG took it from you, how is that not theft of your property?

I have one question: the “Horizon Backstage Pass” & “Forzathon Points” will be inherit (after Series 77) or not?

Saw someone reference that there were also two free stand-alone DLC cars that were removed: the Sunbeam Tiger and the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. So at the moment there’s no way to get either of those.

The same thing is happening here, I have the ULTIMATE version bought in the store at launch, I have all the DLCs and it gives the message to go to the store and buy it ( MITISUBISHI, FORMULA DRIFT PACK, … )

They definitely need to figure out how to get everyone this content if they weren’t able to claim it before they delisted it, because there’s no way they think this was fair.

Looks like it affects people who bought the Ultimate version before the launch of the game.

I bought the base game and only upgraded to Ultimate later, but all the DLC is fine whether it’s Mitsubishi, FD, James Bond, etc. So far, I’ve not been directed to buy any of this content again.
