I get it doesn’t fit with the Campaign tab, but I still find it ridiculous that such a regularly used feature is on the second tab, which will also later become the third and fourth tabs once the DLCs have been released.
Yes, those extra clicks through the menu have been a nuisance for many years now. It would be a good idea if we could pin the tiles we need to the main menu ourselves. Or at least pin a different tab as the ‘home’ tab instead of the ‘company’ tab.
…but in reality, we’ll be asked to create yet another poll, which will get lost among thousands of other polls and will probably never be looked at.
At least now its only 1 tab over. 1 extra button press isnt that big of a deal
I change cars regularly and have no issue clicking a button a few times to move to the right tab. Takes less than one second,
I see you didn’t read the whole post. It’s one tab over now. It could be three by the time both DLCs launch.
It’s still more inconvenient than it needs to be. Horizon 4 had the Change Car option on the first menu. Don’t understand why that being better is such a hard concept for people to grasp.
A lot of content creators are thinking theyll add on to the main map and lock it out like with legend island. Which might mean the dlcs wont have their own tabs
I don’t put much stock in that theory given content creators aren’t developers. There’s a reason the developers haven’t done it before, and I don’t think they magically have that ability now, especially since Legend Island is baked in at launch.
Also, even if the expansions are accessible from the main map, the expansions will likely still have tabs to track your progress through the expansions’ campaigns.
And still takes almost no time at all to tab over to the tab it will be on. I barely notice it in FH5 despite being three tabs over.
At least they aren’t regressing menu design.
I shouldn’t have to praise them for that, but somehow the menu atrocities of Battlefield 6 and Marathon made it to final product. I swear someone took a class to design the Marathon UI to be as unhelpful as possible. The industry has lost their mind of late.
It’s just a quality of life improvement I would’ve greatly appreciated. Not to mention, I just find its placement illogical no matter how you spin it. If you don’t need it, fine. But I do, and clearly other people agree.
I have to agree, I think they should have made the first tab all about the cars, with easy access to the campaign feature, but still about the car, it’s tuning, changing etc. I agree with you there that it has to be one of if not the most used feature of the menu as a whole. Maybe even split the first tab between the campaign and car, both being the most important of the games menus. I don’t know, but I just think you are right with needed immediate access to switching cars must faster than we do have
Honestly the thing that annoys me the most about selecting a new car is:
“ARE YOU SURE YOU’RE SURE YOU ARE SURE YOU SELECTED THIS CAR AND ARE YOU SURE CERTAINLY YOU NEED IT DELIVERED SURELY AND DIDN’T FOR SURE GO TWO MENU PAGES DEEP AND 4 CLICKS TO SELECT IT BY ACCIDENT… SURE?!?!!?!?!?!?1
Stop treating us like every menu click is an accident.
