Cars on icons are always default colour.

I’ve noticed that in Forza Motorsport 7 (unlike all other Forzas I played) no matter which colour your car is the miniature picture always shows it as default colour (manufacturer colour 1).
It’s a minor nuisance but all other Forzas handled it correctly.

My experience is that it usually updates the thumbnail with the correct color, but many times it does not. Sometimes re-painting the car fixes it, but not always.

It’s a flat out bug on T10s part. I see it with many cars, it wont show the livery but just the stock color on the thumbnail.

I mentioned that problem months back while talking with their tech support about an unrelated problem. They’ve known about this one for a very long time, and he advised me to do anything to force a re-render. Add a spoiler, change wheels, and as already noted, sometimes just changing color.

It seems to me that the problem manifests when you download a car (auction house, gift, etc) with a custom livery, and sometimes even just when you select a custom livery. Must be something about not having the custom livery itself downloaded and on the machine before that thumbnail tries to render. So anything that makes it re-render without that problem, fixes the thumbnail. I had quite a few like that, and as far as I know, they are all now fixed (at least those I care about).

Also, when you paint a car, it first saves the livery on the car. So you can change color, force the re-render, and then change back getting the desired render (if that matters to you).

My workaround (what always works for me on PC):
Paint your car or load a livery
go back to garage - if the thumbnail not showing the new desing:
go to paint / customize car
choose paint car
choose my desingns - the desing of your car should be the 1st in the line
choose it again for your car

going back to the garage the thumb is showing the actual desing of the car (at mine - hope it works for u 2)
