I just use any tune that I can find and that I like. Most of them are without Winter tyres since you can’t put them on because the tunes are locked I don’t have the time or find fun in tuning my car but want good performance. Any workaround for the tyres?
Apart from that I can still win against drivatars in second highest difficuilty with every assist off and only ABS and Automatic gears enabled.
I actually found it easier to win the 3 races for this week’s forzathon with stock tyres rather than snow tyres. I started off with snow tyres and it was just a procession, the AI and I trundled round at full throttle all the way, and there was seemingly no way to gain on them. With stock tyres the truck had much livelier handling, there was some sliding around, and it became possible to out-drive the AI. I’m guessing that the AI races with the same tyres as the player.
Let me get this straight… first he doesn’t expect to change tires when winter comes. Then he calls it downgrading. Most likely 1 of those who just drives x999 awd rocketships as mentioned before. & most recently seems to not have his own mind to think of finding a new tune simply by typing winter or snow.
TC can’t be more older than 10, I’m assuming. Seems he expects to just hold the R trigger and the game do everything for him lol
It’s on-topic. Your problem appears to be that you don’t know anything about car performance and mistakenly believe that 900+ PI is brilliant. You probably think Bugatti makes the fastest cars because their top speed figure makes them look fast on paper, not understanding why they can’t lap a circuit as fast as slower cars. (In real life, not in a game.)
Accept the seasons, Spring will be different again, so will be summer.
it makes for me a lot more fun those changes, even the car you will have to modify again is a fun for me.
I don’t mean to be negative, but…what did you expect the cars to handle like during the winter season? Of course the RWD/FWD cars will be “useless” and struggle for traction…it’s winter.
LOl…man spends millions of credits hoping to out pace everyone then the snow falls and he has to sit at home drinking coco for a week…Love the seasonal mechanics in the game…if you want to be a good driver in FH4 adapt to all weather conditions and stop moaning.
The OP is right. It’s absurd that everybody is forced to play a specific way in the winter. This is Horizon. It’s not some kind of real life simulator!!! There , I said it. I said that because every time I have ever requested a reduction of arcade features, I get blasted by the Horizon community. I say remove wall riding, and I get my head chopped off. But they all love winter season because it’s realistic. So which is it? Do you want realism in your horizon games, or don’t you? Pick one. The point the OP is making is a valid one. You bought the game, you should have the freedom. More and more freedom is being taken away from users, and it’s resulting in very bland - pre-planned/pre-packaged experiences. Boring. At least half the time I played Horizon 4 it was either snow or rain. People already avoided rain in Horizon 3 like the plague. The good news is, I know for a fact forced seasons wont be returning. Everybody I know avoids the game during the winter season. I’m glad there are some people who actually like it. At least somebody does. I just avoid the game almost entirely because of the forced seasons. The people who like the forced seasons are very vocal about how much they love horizon 4. The untold story are the people who just stopped playing horizon, and went elsewhere. That’s the story that matters. Because that’s the story that costs Microsoft money. Microsoft isn’t going to willingly lose money over forced seasons because the seasons didn’t bring a giant wave of players who otherwise wouldn’t have bought the game. The people who bought Horizon were going to buy it with or without the forced seasons. They only lost players with this feature. So it will be leaving in Horizon 5, or maybe even 4 if they can add a game mode with a season choice, but that would take a lot of work. Right now you can create a blueprint as you chose, but that’s not good enough. If it were, people wouldn’t be avoiding the game during winter. And when I say people are avoiding the game during the winter season, I don’t mean 2 of my friends. I mean most of the people in the sim racing discord I joined. Sure they’re mostly sim racers, but they still play horizon 4…when its not winter.
First of all, dont you have read anything that peoples have say in last few months? Pretty mutch everyone want to get rid off wallriding. Second why i would need to choose between realism and arcade, if those would be only choices i wouldnt play horizon, this is not realistic like simulator games but this isnt too arcade either, for me horizon is exclent game in how it’s balance realism and arcade. third, really rare game you have actually totally freedom and when watching fm7 at launch state that was game where players actually have really little to freedom. And “everybody i know” is allways so funny argument, lets come say that again when you know all 3m+ players somethink like sim racing discord server it’s not make that point any more valid.
And you know by fact that seasons dont do return, really and i say i know for sure that seasons will make returns and both of those are totally useless statments because either one of us dont know for sure that do seasons make return or dont probobly even PG dont know answer abaout that yet. But fh4 is been best selling forza game so far so i wouldnt suprise at all to see seasons in fh5.
And what come in that OP post that dont make any sense, i dont have any problem to use any of my cars during winter because unlike real life most roads are that good condition that dont need winter tires. For example bamburgh circuit my S2 class record is made in winter by using race tires.
Edit: and just to be sure i tested this week trial champion by using car with race tires and didint have any problems to winning.
I have no idea who you are, or why you believe I’m talking to you or about you? I’ll say it again , just in case the language barrier is the problem. The excuse “Horizon is an arcade game” is used to quash suggestions that “arcade” community doesn’t like. If that’s the argument they want to make, that’s fine. It’s a good argument. The only problem is, they use the opposite argument to shut people down when they suggest an option to avoid specific weather. They say “it’s more realistic”. In America, this is what we call “having it both ways”. My argument against the winter mandate isn’t about realism. It’s about freedom. I do not like being forced to play a game in a specific game mode, with specific weather, for an entire week. I do not care if you have a problem winning in the winter. I never said I couldn’t win a race. I said I don’t like being forced to play a season, with specific weather. It has absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing. And from the conversations I’ve had with plenty of other people, unfortunately for you, most people agree with me. In fact, it was annoying people before the game even came out because the rain in Horizon 3 annoyed a lot of people. However, the rain in Horizon 3 didn’t annoy people to the extent a forced season for an entire week does. People are literally avoiding the game for the duration of the entire season. Sometimes they forget the game exists for multiple weeks like myself. I have probably only spent 20 hours in this game because I hate the forced seasons so much. I want the freedom of playing a car racing game on whatever conditions I want. For this reason I spent far more time in Project Cars 2, or even Forza 7. Horizon 3 does not give me the freedom I want to have a good experience. You don’t have to argue with me about it , because my experience is my experience. There’s nothing you can say to change it. You’re not going to change my mind, or anybody elses for that matter. People don’t like being restricted. Especially at premium price tags. I already said, for those people who enjoy the forced season’s, “I’m happy for you”. “I’m glad somebody likes it”. See, I was nice. You were not.
I really wonder why you have then got fh4 because seasons was very well know feature and it was also know that you cant change those by yourself, and game is abaout britain im actually suprise that there is not rain all the time (main game heavy rain is totally joke because it’s almost like sunshine) so for me it’s sound really stupid to complain something what you have know is gonna be part of the game. And like you said yourself there is other options out there what to play so nobody dont force you to play. Im not actually totally happy how winter is made in this game but my biggest complain abaout winter is opposite for me fh4 winter dont even feel like winter, it’s more like late autumm or early spring so i think PG is allready think abaout lots of those casual players. i would like to see winter like we have fh3 blizzard mountain, and i was hoping that fortune island would offer more winter exprience but no, still most roads are so good condition that dont need to change tires.
You spent $60 on a game you apparently didn’t research too well. You obviously never played the drmo.
As for useless? Only to the clueless.
Rally tires. Almost all my cars have them.
This is the reason the game is quickly heading doen the toilet, I sprnt over $100 and the last complaint I will ever have about it is something I can fully control and enjoy.
Learn the game first, then complain about the parts you don’t like. This game does require a small amout of critical thinking.
Most tarmac roads are barely covered in snow during winter. In the end the difference between those snowy roads and wet roads like you see if Spring/Autumn is minor. Certain stretches of tarmac roads are more densely covered, most notable in my mind would be some length of road on the final bit of Goliath. Those areas are tougher without snow tires but nothing too severe.
I never bothered tuning in forza before this game. I would always just use tunes people uploaded. Here in FH4 I still use community tunes, but I’ve made a lot of my own now and the changing seasons was the main reason for wanting to have control of my tunes. But as others have said, not very hard to search for “Winter” or “Snow” while browsing tunes.
Tuning in Forza isn’t satisfying, because there’s too many off the wall variables that can pretty much quash all of your effort. You know, like some dude smashing into you at 150mph, or sliding on all the walls. This game isn’t satisfying in that regard. The seasons are a gimmick. As you said, most of the roads are barley covered. The roads are often times wet as it is. I also don’t really like the fall or the rain. I wish I could just pick the weather conditions I want. The seasons are just there to change it up a bit. However, the OP doesn’t like being forced to play a specific season for an entire week. I don’t either. Plenty of the races I do are not as enjoyable with my wheel set up when there is snow on the track, and I am driving high horsepower rear wheel drive cars. It’s just annoying. Also, I think it’s stupid and restrictive because I can’t avoid it for an entire week. If he doesn’t want to be restricted, he should speak up. I will also speak up. I don’t want to see this crap in future titles, so I’m going to make sure somebody hears me. And by the way, the argument “It’s barley different when there’s snow”, is a stupid argument. If that were true, I wouldn’t avoid the game during the winter season. I tried playing the game in the winter. I don’t like it. The roads are inconsistent and it leads me to driving cars I don’t like. Boring and restrictive. I play the game on my sim rig. I can feel the difference on road conditions. If I were playing the game with a controller, I probably wouldn’t care about any of this tbh. At that point what does any of it matter? LOL
Winter is my favourite season in the game. The game was advertised as having seasons. Snow and ice are slippery. People should probably try to adapt or play something else.
Learn to drive the cars. My garage is worth 300 million, and out of all of those cars I might not be able to race 5 of them in the snow. This isnt a mash the gas pedal type game.
