Hey guys,
I finally got an Xbox 360, a refurbished one for about $60 just so I could play Forza 4 (big Gran Turismo and sim racing fan) but I was wondering if it was worth picking up the ultimate edition of Forza 3 for cheap. Are there many cars in the ultimate edition not in the Forza 4 base edition? I know Forza 4 has about 2 or 3 new tracks from forza 3 but is missing 2 or 3 as well, but what about cars? The Forza 3 ultimate edition new costs about as much as a new standard edition of Forza 4, both are about $20.
Also, I heard the physics are more “dumbed down” in Forza 3 and that Forza 4 is more realistic, is this true?
One more thing, can I install both discs and patches on a USB as I don’t have a 360 hard drive?
Thanks for your responses!
Forza 3 is a nearly dead game and unless you can get the 2 disc Ultimate Version you will not get most of the DLC content (the single disc version requires codes to be used and the DLC has been end of lifed so they no longer work). Personally FM4 is a better game in almost every way.
Not sure about the USB question but HDDs for the 360 are fairly cheap now.
You can use a USB storage device, but the system limits the capacity of a non-Xbox storage device to 32 GB. Installing a game disc can take up 6 GB or more. My workaround for this was creating multiple partitions on an external hard drive. You have to name the root folder you want to use to a specific name, which is a bit inconvenient if you want to switch partitions, but it works.
And also running game content off an external drive might slow your game. I just use the drive for content like movies from Live Video.
Running games off a hard drive actually makes loading faster. The only downside is the massive space taken up.
