Sorry if this is old news, but I have not seen it posted and I just noticed this last night.
When competing in career mode, it is expected that you typically run 8 races for each tournament. I always assumed this meant 8 different races. Last night I ran a race in which I got a silver. I hit restart and completed the race again, this time with a gold. What I noticed is that the number of races needed to complete the tournament decreased by 1 again. I tested this further and it appears that you only need to complete 8 races, not 8 different races. At the completion of 8 races, the bonus races are unlocked, which also include at this point ALL races. In my case I had 12 races to complete.
On a related note, I have noticed that I did get the badge/title for completing 10 career bonus races (Moonlighting), but I have not unlocked any more, although I have run every race in at least 14 tournaments so by my caculations I should have at least unlocked the title for 50 races and probably 100. I don’t know if there is a connection between these two events, but it give pause for thought.
Has anyone else experienced this combination of events with the same results.
I’ve completed all career and bonus races and not seen this issue or had any issue like this. Every time they add a track I have to go back and race the track but that’s all.
I have not checked or noticed the race count observation you made.
However, I do believe there is definitely an issue with the badges for the Career Bonus races, because I have completed every race in every category and none of the Career Bonus badges have popped for me, not even the 10 race one that you mentioned. I am wondering if it is because of the way I did my races, meaning that I finished all of the primary races that counted toward the cup and then after all championships were completed, then I went back and did all of the bonus races. Oh well, hope the badges pop with the next round of updates or fixes.
Anyone know of a way to get these badges to pop? I did try the complete shutdown and this did not work.
wish i had known that back then. i hated autocross in the atom. i guess that explains why it auto loads next race with no chance to tune your car or anything. i could have skipped the garbage cans and bowling too? ohh well. and no doing autocross for a few days in the atom did not make me a better driver. the law of averages just caught up and i got lucky and gold. i still suck in that car.
I just plain straight hated the Atom - and I wasn’t a fan of autocross, either, so I hear you. One thing that made autocross bearable though was to calculate the minimum speed necessary to complete the course with gold (divide the gold time by sixty and add to memory, then divide the track length by memory recall). As long as you stay just above whatever that is, you’ll get gold, and it’s usually slow enough, even with the Atom, to be able to clear all the gates. Got the autocross badges/titles that way.
