Car stats (yes I know bear with me)

I just noticed something odd, I’ve posted a bug but thought I’d add a topic in case anyone has some thoughts. It’s probably completely meaningless and it’s not going to get “fixed” but there’s a slight indication, to me, that something might be going on that we’ve not been told.

In the garage, a stock Acura NSX has these stats:
Speed 7.0
Handling 7.0
Acceleration 9.2
Launch 10 (gold)
Braking 7.1
Offroad 4.7
Power 573 hp
Torque 845 Nm
Weight 1,725 kg
Front 42%
Displacement 3.49 l

In “eligible cars” for “Egypt Part 1 - Cairo”, Handling is 6.3 (down 0.7) and Offroad is 5.3 (up 0.6). Other stats are the same.

If the event is entered, the car selection screen shows the garage stats.

It’s systematic, it seems (the numbers vary but otherwise it’s Handling and Offroad going the same directions), so it seems reasonable to conclude that there is a second set of calculations or database file or whatever. The question is, why is that?

Most likely it’s just an error in some calculation somewhere that got altered but one bit got left behind, or something like that. There’s still, though, a separate calculation somewhere, regardless.

Just seems odd.

it’s probably an older version as this is an old playlist being re-used.
the small descrepencies are going to be purely cosmetic, the eligible vehicles screen isn’t an actual menu and has no interactions, it’s just a display of information that you can scroll through like the car selection menu. and unlike the car selection menu, the specs are probably just static, there’s no dynamic data being loaded in, which is why even if you have a non-stock version of one of the cars, you don’t see your actual version, just the stock, read-only info card

could be, yes, but . . .

again, though - what changed, when, and why? I don’t recall anything where all Handling and Offroad figures were recalculated

doesn’t mean it didn’t, I’m not arguing (also not asking you specifically!)

i don’t know, but what i do know is that if we’re talking about video game developers, being tired and making mistakes is mostly likely why these things happen, and not because they are the illumi-Bugatti

oh, yes, I’m not suggesting a conspiracy to hide stuff, just a “this is odd, what is it about?”

there could be some grand design to it but as I noted I doubt that

You have the original NSX. The ones in the Autoshow now have the 6.3 handling.
Most all the cars have had the handling/offroad PI changed.
I think it was deliberate, not a bug. And it’s not meaningless. The old higher handling PI cars are faster.
Buy a new NSX and test it yourself.
I have OG tuned cars with the higher handling. The same tune applied to a new car is much slower.
If you change the tune or any parts in the upgrade menu, or auction/reclaim an older one it gets nerfed with the new PI.
