Car stats vary depending on menu used to view them

I had a few notes of car stats and just noticed the numbers vary depending on how they’re viewed.

For example, Dodge Viper '99 (stock of course), has the following stats when viewed in the garage menu:
Speed 6.9
Handling 5.5
Acceleration 5.2
Launch 4.1
Braking 4.0
Offroad 4.5

If I go to “Nimble Ninties” in the current Playlist and press burger to look at eligible cars, these are the figures:
Speed 6.9
Handling 4.9
Acceleration 5.2
Launch 4.1
Braking 4.0
Offroad 5.0

For Dodge Viper '99, then, Handling is down 0.6 and Offroad is up 0.5.
For Jaguar XJ220, Handling is down 0.7 and Offroad is up 0.6.

For Acura NSX in “Egypt Part 1 - Cairo”, Handling is down 0.7 and Offroad is up 0.6.
For HSV GEN-F GTS in “Level Speedway”, Handling is down 0.5 and Offroad is up 0.4.
For Exocet Off-Road in “Buggy Bug World”, Handling is down 0.2 and Offroad is up 0.2.

I have not looked at others.

When entering the “Cairo” event the stats for the Acura are the garage stats, not the eligible car stats, so I presume this is just a bug in the eligible-car menu - unless the cars really are changed and that change is supposed to be hidden.

What’s this about?

do the cars in question have upgrades or tunes applied to them in your garage? your car can become eligible or ineligible based on the tune/upgrades

no, it’s simply a question of which view is used; no changes to the car, view in the garage, one set of numbers, view in “eligible cars”, those two differ, go back to the garage, same set as before when viewing in the garage
