Cant play NASCAR Expansion; game crashes when I try to start World Tour, use cars, etc

Hi everyone,

After I downloaded the Expansion pack and the content update, when I try to start any event in the NASCAR expansion the game freezes while loading, then crashes to dashboard. I also tried using a NASCAR car in free play mode, but the game froze and eventually crashed to the dashboard. However I can play regular career mode and other modes just fine, the NASCAR expansion and cars are giving me problems. I’ve tried uninstalling the dlc and reinstalling it, clearing local save data and syncing with the cloud, and restarting the console. After everything I still have this issue. Do i need to uninstall the game and re download it, or delete my save data and start from scratch (which i would like to avoid). Thanks.

Do not go overboard trying to fix this issue. If you try certain things you could end up doing more harm than good.

  1. Do a cold boot of the console. Make sure you are at the home screen with no games running.

  2. Hold the power button on the console for about 5 seconds until the console turns itself off.

  3. Remove the power cord from the console and from the power supply.

  4. Wait a minute or so.

  5. Plug it all back in and turn on the console. It will take longer than normal to boot.

  6. Try again.

If not working I suggest the following.

  1. Uninstall the game (do not delete your saved game though), I believe it will ask you if you want to delete game only or saved games as well. Just uninstall the game.

  2. Reinstall the game and make sure all updates have 100% finished installing before starting the game again.

Next time we get a Content Update for the game, do the update ONLY. Restart your Xbox One, and then if there is DLC available, then download it and install.

First you get the structure proper in the game (which is primarily what a CU is, plus any game tweaks necessary), then you add in the newest item and restart the console again when that download is 100% finished installing.

I got really, really really lucky this time. I did them in opposite order. Mainly because I got the notification about the NASCAR thing and was so excited I disregarded my better judgement and went and bought the dlc. I guess the 30+ years of watching just about every race has finally paid off!!
