Ever since Road America came out, I cannot race on the Test Track. My One will crash to the dashboard within seconds of the cars lining up.
Originally after the Road America update; RA, Road Atlanta, and the Test tracks would not race. Every time I’d try, they would all crash to the dashboard. After deleting everything Forza from my One (twice), Road America finally runs, as does Road Atlanta, but the Test Track is still unplayable.
I’ve made sure all of my settings are wide open in the System menu. I’ve tried it with the “Resume game Immediately” box checked and unchecked. I’ve deleted everything Forza from my One and reinstalled three times trying to get it to work like I did with the Road America update. Every setting on my One is optimized so that my games will run the smoothest, and the Xbox help center I called said (after 20 minutes of trying different setting combinations before switching everything to MS’s most optimized settings) that the issue must be with either the game, or the information coming from the Forza section of the servers.
All to no avail.
This CTD happens in both single player and multi-player. Within seconds of the cars lining up, the game just cuts to my dashboard as if I had quit out. My internet is fine; I live in Kansas City and have Google Fiber, so it’s plenty fast enough. There’s nothing competing for internet in my abode when I’m racing anyways.
I want to buy the Car Packs, I really do. I like supporting franchises I enjoy. Forza 5 is my first Forza, but I really like this game. However; I’m not going to buy anything if issues like this are going to be common or go unaddressed. I’ve bought one car pack, but that’s all until some progress is made.
isn’t there a stability update Turn 10 could push out? Something that runs in the background and stabilizes the code strings? Spit in the wind and wish upon a falling fairy? Something?
It’s getting pretty ridiculous.
