Really excited about the new FFB update. Rookie here with a g290.
I have spent hours trawling the net for the ‘best’ settings for my wheel. A lot of opposing information out but I think I landed on some good settings before the update. The new FFB systems seems like an improvement to me, but I can feel it needs a few tweaks for my wheel. Rather than piecing together other peoples recommendations, can we get a recommended settings from Turn 10 games for each wheel make?
I am assuming these values have been calibrated in the game to best cover different cars and conditions etc and are not wheel specific. So leave these at 100?:
Aligning torque scale
Mechanical Trail scale
Pneumatic Trail scale
Road feel scale
However am guessing these values are affected by the motor strength and resistance of each wheel brand. Im guessing they tested and chose an ‘average’ value as a starting point, but likely best tweaked for each wheel based on how strong it’s motor is:
Vibration
Force Feedback scale
Wheel Damper scale
Center Spring
Since the g290 motor isn’t as strong, have changed values to these, and seems ok so far.
Vibration -50 (up from 40 default)
Force Feedback scale -120
Wheel Damper scale -20
Center Spring - 0
Rotation angle - 540 (I prefer driving rally and sports cars, and apparently 540 is what these cars are setup with IRL)
The official Wheel Guide at the Forza Support site mentions a couple models but recommends tuning approaches and going by what feels right for each player:
Problem is I don’t know what ‘feels right’ as I’m not a professional racer. In an ideal world it would be plug and play and be tuned to be as accurate to real life as possible, and I can trust the pros had chosen the best settings.
I had read with FH4 there was talk of a ‘preset’ system in the works you could select for each wheel brand that would automatically change to the best settings. Something like that would be great.
