Cam packages don't change the cars sound???

I had noticed this before on basic included cars, and it bothered me, but wasn’t a big deal. On PAID content though, I thought those were held to a bit higher standard perhaps I’m mistaken? The trans am sounds the same stock as it does with any of the cam options, and only a handful of the cars change sounds from stock to race exhaust, primarily just louder no tone change even then… at least change the forza/vista idle so I can drool to the sound of that cammed beauty showing it off to friends LOL. The 455 TA (of the cars I own) is the only one that sounds like it should with a cam installed, and I never tested to see if it sounded that way without a cam package… =/

So you’ve personally put an upgraded aftermarket camshaft in every car in Forza and real life then compared them?

You’ve expected Turn 10 to allow a collector of a 20 million dollar car, even a 10k car, to also install camshafts in a car just for audio purposes then put everything back like it was?

Some threads I get, then some I do not, this thread I definitely do not get.

Thats a good question

Could you think the amount of money having to be spent to find cars with and with out all the different parts in this game just to record the sound change for every part, i know T10 try and most of the time bring top quality in every way they can but i think you may be asking for a move of the gods,
Don’t get me wrong it would be amazing for this sound, the superchargers and turbos put sounds on like whining and hissing and evan wastgates which is fantastic but cam’s and exhaust sounds for every car is a big thing to find and do.

I’ve not tried every car no, and I’m not talking that it would have to be exact. But some cars that are EASILY accessible with and without cams it wouldn’t be a stretch. Take the trans-am again for example… dare I even try to count how many I can find with everything from mild to wild cams that could be sourced? Heck it’s easier to find one WITH a cam than without! LOL. The cars I DO personally know (most of my reason for owning them in game) don’t. But that’s not what I’m saying. My issue is that there is 0 audio change for a cam. Not louder, not quieter, no ramping up for a different start, nothing that comes with the more aggressive street or race cams. I don’t think it terribly affects the game in any way, but it would be a GREAT addition. One of my little observations and some feedback regarding audio that Forza has always been at the helm of. If you can’t understand someone (particularly a V8 petrolhead) wanting to be able to hear a cammed V8 at an idle when it’s a cammed V8 in game… well… I’m at a loss anyway ;).

If it was possible on the 455, why not on the '02 TA or SS camaro and C5 Z06? all readily available across the US cammed and not. Ditto for a lot of the basic cars in the game. I can CERTAINLY understand difficulty in tracking down… let’s say a 458 italia, or a yellowbird with an upgraded camshaft sure. But the common cars that have this done as a normal mod? I understand where you’re coming from for sure, and I understand it would be difficult to do on ALL cars. But when it IS a possibility… why not? Again… if it could be done for a 455TA why not the rest? Even more confusing… put a 7.0 in the 455 car, and it sounds like a NASCAR ready to pounce with an idle that will make you drool. The same 7.0 in the Camaro Corvette or TA… you can barely tell there has been a change even with a full racing exhaust on all 3. SAME ENGINE. Maybe this makes it more clear… I can see how I missed my overall point in the first post, my appologies

also FWIW, some cars do have a noticeable change from one thing to the next. The 2013 MX-5 sounds stock, stock, with a racing exhaust it sounds like one with a full racingbeat exhaust. Again, there are some examples in the game that do show these changes can be accomplished.

I hear both sides of this. It would be impossible to do with all the cars in the game. BUT, for the cars where a cam swap is more common than not, the 60’s/70’s muscle cars, it’s not a stretch to source 2 cars and record them, one stock and one cammed. Getting 2 is as easy as getting one. Go to a local car show, ask Joe and Larry, their cars are sitting right next to each other. It would add a whole nother level of cool to the game. That said, I can understand that doing this would be very low on T10’s priority list. How many can/would appreciate an aggressive idle?

Then you would all complain that not every car didn’t have it and you didn’t understand why. That they could easily just go to your friends, cousins, friends and look at his because he had one and you didn’t understand why they wouldn’t do that if a regular Joe had one in your hometown.

C’mon

ahh good 'ole uniformity. Just as much fun as making every patient sign a form that if their glasses are broken when mounting lenses it’s not our fault, no matter how perfect the frame may be

I still don’t understand how the 7.0 sounds like a monster in the 455TA and sounds like a tamed kittycat version in other cars worm  You are adressing the why not’s, and I 100% understand why not. But then why are there already examples in the game, for pete’s sake especially when it’s already the exact same engine! It’s not like I’m asking something far-fetched as you make it sound buddy. How many cars have an LS1 swap option? One recording covers tons of cars… though I’m not too sure how accurate that is… see above again about the 7.0.

Please read my entire post and respond accordingly and stop putting a blanket on it please :). I’ve given you some examples of cars that DO have the appropriate sound like they should. I will forget about it all together and move on once you’ve addressed that

C’mon!

:edit: didn’t like my version of -cat LOL.

Blanket but not blanket.

Stop complaining and move on now please.

OH fine… but only because I’m feeling extra nice this Thursday! LOL. Can I at least have a 7.0 in my '02 TransAM that sounds like the 7.0 in my 455? LOL. That’s not too much to ask for a car I paid for is it?

Trust me on this much worm, nothing against turn10 here, I’m still ecstatic the old car made it into the game, this would just make it pure awesomeness so please don’t take any of this the wrong way  - that is I was never complaining in the first place, just stating my observances… the attitude around this forum sometimes sheesh I could see how it would come across differently.

Good thing the most important aspect of a cam upgrade is simulated: performance.

NVM, just forget me over here…
