Bizzare Graphical issue - occurs only when wheel plugged in?

Hello

I have a really odd issue, which after lots of Googling and lots of trouble shooting, I have been able to finally nail down. I just don’t know what to do about it… !

I Play FH4 on PC and the game works beautifully and has done since release. I played a lot of the game with a controller, however on receiving a Logitech G29 steering wheel for Christmas, I decided to restart and play the game from scratch with the steering wheel.

It all works fine and is great fun (now I’ve got used to it), however… I am getting a really odd graphical issue.

When the wheel is connected, the checkpoint flags flicker, like a black texture appears on them randomly, giving them the appearing of flickering. The rest of the game renders perfectly with no issues.

If the wheel is disconnected the flickering goes away. (i.e. playing the game with controller or keyboard)

  • I have tried all the graphics settings, changing them individually, with no effect.
  • This includes disabling CSAA which I read can cause flickering on some systems.
  • I have also tried different resolutions and windowed mode.
  • I have ensured my graphics drivers are up to date.
  • I have the latest version of the Logitech Gaming Software installed.

If anyone has encountered this before, or has any thoughts on how to resolve it, I’d really appreciate it. As I say it is just the checkpoint flags that are visibly affected, so the game is playable… just with crazy flickering checkpoint flags.

Thanks

Good news.

Either the latest Forza patch or the latest NVIDIA drivers (released on the same day) resolved this issue.

It was a weird one, glad it’s been sorted though, whatever the cause!

Cheers
