So for my 360 I had the thrustmaster 458 italia wheel which sadly doesn’t work on my xbox one. Now this wheel only rotated 180 degrees. I might get the thrustmaster 458 wheel for the xone and switch out the wheel for the scuderia challenge wheel and buy some pedals that have a clutch plus a stand : around 700, Im fine with just the wheel ( $500) but are there any good wheels under $500?
Thrustmaster TX is awesome, particularly if you add the GTE add on rim and T500 pedals with Basherboards mod.
Dont buy any, Save your money.
Better ignore Dust2Death, he seems to be on a personal vendetta against TM and MC…
I bought the TX about a year ago and i’m having an absolute blast with it, using it on both Forzas and Ascetto Corsa on PC. Never had any issues so far (touching wood) and its a good piece of hardware, albeit its rather high price tag. Its well known that TM has some QA issues with the TX but i have yet to see a wheel that didn’t have any issues at all, not even the higher rated Fanatecs.
Cant tell you much about the MadCatz wheel, but reviews indicate that it seem to be slightly inferior to the TX.
However, keep in mind that the addons (T3PA pedals (clutch) and TH8A shifter) are currently extremely difficult to obtain in certain countries. You might want to check local availability before you make your decision.
Hey Dust, didn’t you just buy a flight stick for Elite: Dangerous from Thrustmaster?
Doesn’t Thrustmaster make the best flight sticks?
Also, ignore WoozieWoo. He only just said to ignore someone for a vendetta against the wheels then goes on to say that while his TX works he knows they have quality control issues (which you can find by searching this forum or any other) and that the Madcatz is inferior (it’s lap mounted…lol).
So yeah, if you need a wheel then buy one but if you don’t “need” one then stick with your controller. Nothing is worth the price right now. Yes, I’ve used the TX.
Yeah, posting one liners like ‘wheel is garbage - dont waste your money’ (other TM thread) is extremely valuable for the OP and an enormous help to decide what to buy. Either provide an explanation why its garbage or dont post, as it adds nothing to the thread (that’s something a Mod should be concerned about, rather than trying hard to be sarcastic/funny)
Yes, the TX have QA issues, like every other wheel, as I already mentioned. So lets conclude then that all wheels are garbage apart from maybe a Leo Bognar or an AccuForce DD Wheel for 5000 quids…
So you’re telling me what I should be concerned with now? Maybe you should read the ToS.
If the wheels are “garbage” in his opinion should he write a 2000 word essay as to why and get the same exact point across or should he just say what he thinks they are?
As a consumer I would much rather read his response that is straight forward than yours who assumes he is against something then goes on to say why he likely thinks they are. Your post is confusing, his is not. FYI it’s Bodnar and they still break, so do the AccuForce wheels, the FREX wheels and any other that will never work for an Xbox. Maybe not as often but for 5 grand they should work 24/7 and tickle your butt with a feather, I’ve looked into buying them all.
You buy what you can afford and figure out which is easiest to fix and mod. It’s Fanatec BTW, which is painful for me to say as someone who has had multiple problems over 4 different types of Fanatec wheel. Thrustmaster wheels stack inside and are hard to fool with while Fanatecs are pretty straight forward when opening up. They all mess up.
No need for a 2000 word essay, a simple one-sentence explanation on why its garbage would suffice…it would at least give valuable information to the OP.
I’m out now, gotta read the ToS…
