The 5.1 Surround Sound in this game is not really good in my opinion. The 5.1 is working, but the sound of the own car is to quiet, especially if I compare it to the sound in Project Cars 2.
Curious: if I play with headphones, the sound is better, not much but it is.
Can you please fix the surround sound or at least give us options to adjust the single speakers. Or at least give us the option to make the own car louder…
Maybe a little workaround - you cannot make your own car louder, but you could turn the other sounds (Track, other cars…) down. Than just turn master volume up and…your car is (comparatively) louder.
Actually this doesn’t help one bit. It only makes the other sounds muted which are just as important - other cars around you, tires screeching and telling you what they’re doing, road and wind noise building up, other ambient effects for immersion’s sake.
Turning down these sounds while increasing the in-game master volume and volume gain on your sound system only makes the sound come out more shrill, high pitched and ear fatigue inducing. There’s a lot of oomphy rumble, loud bass and midrange frequency sound missing from the car sounds. We’re hoping a patch will re-balance the car sound mix to make the cars sound loud and powerful, like they are in FM6 and even Horizon 3.
That’s what I’m doing at the moment - I have everything else set to around 65% and have to drastically jack up volume in order to hear and feel any meaningful character and feedback from my car. I also have to keep the mids and highs lower than normal because the cars get very shrill and high pitched as you increase volume. I’m hoping they are reading this at T10 HQ. All of it.
