With the PS5 version anounced we will soon have millions of new noobs to eliminate in the eliminator.
Are you still playing or will you return to it once they arrive?
Anyways, this thread was just an excuse to post this

No.
I played it a decent amount in FH4 to grind out achievements and get the exclusive car rewards from it, but I usually only play it in FH5 when it’s on the Playlist.
No. I hate this game mode. Hide&Seek as well.
Fortnite clones aren’t my cup of tea.
The Eliminator ruined very important part of Horizon game. The Map!
Luck-reliant zoomer slop
Yep. Still trying to get the “Heads Up” accolade
so you’re about 2500 ahead of me, but at least I finished the accolades, only took, what, 3 years or so
well, there’s some luck involved, no doubt, but there are a few things that make life easier, my 7th win followed OP advice to time your exit from the final circle and go in a direction favourable for you and unfavourable for everyone else, I even drove quite badly but still won easily
I can’t say I’m interested enough to go back to it unless there’s a reason such as an accolade or whatever
it’s not as bad as the grind in hide and seek, I’ve given up at level 680
no it didnt
Nope, not even remotely luck based
I’d disagree; if you have someone who knows what they’re doing, spawns in the same area and happens to get to the high-tier vehicle nearby quickly then even you’d be in trouble, or there are a couple of vehicles and someone gets the Hoonigan RS200 while you can only nab a 205
once you’re rolling though it is a fair bit less about luck, that’s more reliant on map knowledge, some driving ability and other stuff that you know all too well!
Ive done it a limited number of times and its been a while. Not a big fan, of this or hide n seek. But I still need 5 or 6 wins for all the accolades so I planned to go back … low priority though. I havent learned all the ins and outs, like where the final race ends are going to be, so Ive had a lot of funal races with me starting late, or in the wrong d direction.
I have my regular spawn point around which several cars are almost guaranteed to spawn, exiting this point takes map knowledge so even if someone beats me to a drop and challenges me odds are I will still win because I know where the finish line of this race will go 99% of the time.
I have beaten level 10 cars this way.
fair enough, I’ll definitely go with your knowledge, but if you were playing yourself maybe it might be different?
good job I didn’t use “with” there
FYI I am 53 and know plenty of other old folks who love the eliminator
I am enjoying the game mode as of late. I just got my 12th win or something within about 3 Months of somewhat actively playing.
But i cant get over the fact that they designed the map around this gamemode.
I think it should be the other way around, the gamemode should be designed around the map and the map should be a fun driving map with beatiful scenery and winding roads and dense forests and also inaccesable areas.
The gamemode is cool and ill be playing when PS5 players are coming, but its not nice that they made the whole map a “battle royal” map.
They did not, the concessions they made are things like having a single exit at places like a festival site which would otherwise be fenced off or a route down or up on the volcano that would otherwise be inacesable for most eliminator cars
I only play when it is on the weekly playlist. As soon as I reach the top 30, I challenge someone, wish them “Good luck”, and drive away from the H2H destination.
