Are Race Transmitions Worth it?

OK I had written an essay but I will some it up as follows:

Race transmissions are slowing you all down.

I hope there are more people than just Worm that understand that.

Raises hand I get it.

I’m starting to start experimenting without Race Brakes to see how it works. I have to get used to not having higher brake pressure, but I think I’ll survive and get the extra PI point or two in with other upgrades.

Yep you are getting it.

My quickest builds do not have race transmissions and probably have whatever transmission results in the lowest PI (I will come back to this). They do not have any cage whatsoever. They do not have race brakes unless they are used as PI filler - yes there are some cars that are at say PI 600 and brakes do not tip it over to 601. That is the only time I use race brakes now.

Some cars lowest PI transmission may have a big gap between top gear and the one before it. These cars will either not be in my roster or I may upgrade to a different transmission but unlikely to be race transmission.
