You have to win X number of championships to progress to the finals.
For me at least, this takes away the fun - as soon as I’m lagging behind in a race, I just have to quit and restart because there is no use finishing if I’m not going to come in first.
I really prefer games where you just have to collect a total number of points over time to progress. Then you can just play a race through as best you can and collect your points. It feels more realistic to play this way.
I find it annoying when I don’t win. It’s a racing game. If you don’t finish first, you just lost. You finished last. Makes sense, that one would need to win to move on. Ask Daniel Caruso from Karate Kid. Can’t win the TriValley Tourney if you don’t beat Johnny.
I would suggest turning down your difficulty setting. TBH I felt the single player career was a bit too easy. I do have a 5 year old son the plays, and he has no problem completing the championships on the easiest drivatar setting. I’ve actually seen the cars stop to wait for him after he crashes. Find the right difficulty setting for yourself.
It was annoying for me the first time I lost a championship and realised it didnt count but from that point at least I knew what I had to do. Change the difficulty if you are struggling to win the championships.
i mean the amount of times i’ve restarted on the offroad races with the cheating ass AI…
this is a racing game, if you’re not first, you’re last, drive faster
i can sort of understand the frustration but with the mechanic that even people who come 3rd pass then you may as well let people progress who come last
Can’t say I’ve had this issue. I’ve found that even after suffering crippling losses in some races, the higher-ranking drivatars will do poorly in the following races and sometimes even vanish from the championship altogether, leaving you with no competition for the points you need to win.
Plus as others have said you can always just lower the difficulty setting, or change your car, if you’re having trouble keeping up.
For me the more annoying point is that you always start from the same position on the starting grid (same on other recent Forza games also).
It would be nice to have the option to drive some kind of qualification if you would want to improve your starting position. If you wouldn’t want to do that, then you would start from the “default” position.
