The Anticipation:
It’s Thursday, I have intentionally kept away from anything Forza on Youtube, Twitch forums etc . . to make sure I don’t accidentally stumble across what the Final Weekly Challenge of the game will be?? The Last One!
Perhaps, a new car that only those who stayed true to the ( lets just call it what it is) the end of the game would be gifted!!
I open up the game - login, and see the GTO Judge as the first gift car. Nice! - I know that is one of the rare ones to get. I already have one, but I appreciate the thought. I tab over to the right . … and . .
The Devastation:
A… 69 Camaro??- I can’t even give those away.
OK - well, the Challenge must be good then . . uhm . …
A- B: Class - Cross Country Race . . . in a Ford F-150??
This . . . is how Forza is going to end the Weekly Challenges?
This seems like something they picked up out of the trash, and said - this is good enough. We’re done with this game so it doesn’t really matter at this point.
You can make your own conclusions, but this was the biggest kick in the ( create your own colorful word ) - I can recall from this game.
I guess I really am stupid for thinking they would care enough about us to end the game with something really special that would be memorable for us die hard players.
I completely understand opening the game to PS5 - great idea - that’s just good business.
But now they have a whole new audience, and everything will be brand new.
But it would have been a nice gesture to Gift something special the OG’s of the game.
Rant over . . .

The B-Class F-150 CC was actually fun and even more fun to do in Rivals if you were looking for a great tune.

The thing is, this is not the end. Like seriously people need to stop thinking that the game is over now. Why would they not add any new content anymore if the game literally comes to a new platform soon, PS. They never said anywhere that updates are over now, we could still get new cars at any point.
I guess this is where we can agree to disagree.
My question is, why would they bother?
The Challenges ended with a . . . 69 Camaro . . really showing the love and dedication to us with that act of careful thought and consideration.
The business concept to bring on Playstation was brilliant.
Any idea where sales are with the 3 main consoles - not including PC?
Playstation outsells Xbox 2 to 1. IOW, for every 1 Xbox sold, PS5 sells 2.
So, they just doubled the number of possible new players using already created content without spending a penny. For PS players, this is a brand new never seen before game.
Brilliant move . . .
I guess time will tell, I hope I am wrong, but I’m not going to be holding my breath with anticipation.
I don’t have any problem with your opinion, just the logic. Non PS Console numbers are irrelevant. There are 44 million players listed on the Hall of Fame (HoF). If all PS5 owners got FH5, that would indeed more than double the number assuming they nearly all play to the HoF level.
I am sure that money has been spent on this - porting must involve programmers?
Plus there are probably some licensing costs. This could be a loss making move, but the potential for any future games sales will outweigh that.
Well, I’m glad to be proven wrong.
The Horizon Realms, with the new Stadium track - well sort of. The new Nissan Car pack, - older model cars- interesting. The new accolades with the cars you can get is really good. This, I am excited for - couple exclusive Lambos, new Lotus, The Mammoth truck - great selection.
However, if you read the email, it did not mention the logistics of grafting in the PS5 and all of the legality that is involved
My entire email was centered only on content creation. They already have well over 2 years of content that is ready and waiting. Recycled Festivals, or the original campaign story - I have no interest in these. But for PS5 - this will be a whole new world. So, yes, very little will need to be invested on the creation side.
However, I do truly appreciate the effort that was made adding the additional stadium and gift cars - classy move.
The new content is launching March 25th.
PS5 launches the 26th. It’s gong to be quite the show with a ton of new players.
Let the Chaos Commence!
