I like the midrange response with the anti-lag kit applied. The sound effects are annoying though. I WON’T use anti-lag unless I can turn off the sound effects. it’s that loathsome to hear. I abhor it especially when I’m in the air and all I here is POP, pop, pop, pop,POP,POP,pop, pop!!! Please for the love of goodness let me shut the anti-lag volume off., I want to retune with anti-lag.
I couldn’t agree more. The sounds make me want to rip my hair out and ALT F4 the game. The backfire and pops and bangs sounds so fake and computer generated and unrealistic I can’t even begin to explain. I just don’t want to hear it, ever. That’s beside the fact that It completely ruins tuning by increasing the performance significantly but not increasing the PI.
Im quite new in the game and i agree its too much sound, too much popopopopop and fire effect looks just bad compared to everything. I think if they add blur and reduce the intesify effect can be much better
You know what, i wouldn’t mind if you could turn the sound off for those of you complaining, but in my opinion this is better than nothing, they do need to adjust the PI rating though when you have an anti-lag turbo, but i love the sound, gives it more of a need for speed feel sorta, cause i like need for speed, but only for the vibes, physics and looks wise i prefer forza
I suppose for realism it’s wrong to turn it off; if you want the perk you need to put up with the noise!
Unfortunately the perk improves car performance at no PI cost. As a tuner my inner drive tells me to install it where possible but I don’t want to harass everyone with the constant noise with future tunes.
If I don’t do it the tunes will be inferior.
In the case of the Audi S1 the upgrade solely repairs the broken engine improving the performance by huge margins at no cost.
On some cars with bodykits the backfire has no visual effect (Impreza 209 for example).
Just another one of these half-baked, poorly tested features PG is known for nowadays - sadly.
My car actually sounds like a game of Call of Duty MW.
I just wish it was aiming at the helicopter as that’s pretty noisy too.
Dont get me wrong I am greatful to have antilag, its incredible, but yea I agree with you. Maybe having a audio slider in game for the antilag itself like the radio audio sliders to edit the overall antilag audio. I miss being able to relax and absorb in some of Forza Horizon 5s ambient sounds (Nature Sounds of Forza Horizon Mexico | 30 Minutes - YouTube). They are incredibly peaceful. I know I can always just do it in solo but its alot more fun as a group and the immersion disappears when your sneaking up/watching the flamingos and here the antilag popping in the background and it doesnt scare them.
P.S. may want to reword this and add it to the suggestion hub for voting instead of a generalized discussion ![]()
With all the “flame throwing” & chickens all over the courses, I’m surprised there’s not a KFC on every corner ![]()
brilliant
Yes the sound is annoying please allow us to elect to mute the fakey sound.
I created an account just to say how anoying this sound is. Let us turn it off in settings.
Welcome to the community ! unstopppable101 I love that you joined for just that reason ![]()
I agree with many on this topic. A volume audio slider for the antilag system needs to be created.
The noise this antilag creates gives me headaches and I’m starting to develop an extreme dislike for this game because there are no controls to change the settings of these effects, even if it were mastered in SFX in the Audio Settings, but it’s not.
I have tried changing all game audio settings so normal gameplay isn’t affected, but it makes no difference. Only turning down the tv volume works but this affects normal gamepkay, until developers create a adhoc setting to adjust the audio volume of the antilag.
I removed the anti lag from the ex-McRae & Grist Focus by adding the race turbo, not the race turbo with antilag. I still get some antilag sounds though , strangely. But remove the turbo is the only way.
I don’t like the sound either. Maybe it’s because I’m running the sound through my TV, but there doesn’t seem to be any bass to it so it sounds like a plastic bag being blown in the wind. Not at all like any anti lag I’ve heard from real cars.
Only way is to ‘disable’ anti-lag is to replace the ‘Race Turbo with Anti-Lag’ for standard ‘Race Turbo’. I did this for the ex-McRae & Grist Focus WRC and it’s now brilliant.
That car could’ve had anti-lag switchable with the Left Stick (like convertibles or the Rimac Nevera/AMG ONE/Mustang Mach-E modes) just like the actual real WRC car which has a big switch center of the dashboard with “road” and “stage” modes so when it’s doing non-competitive routes on a rally it’s not scaring mi abuela or her per chihuahua as it’s traveling along the Mexican pavement.
Edited for typos (again!)
Yes, I would very much like to be able to turn the sound down. Not off entirely, but definitely muffle it. The motor-heads out there seem to be getting aroused by it, which… I mean, fine, whatever floats your boat, buddy. But I’m not the kind of person who gets physical gratification from combustion engines. I just need the audio cues to shift and such, and I’m happy.
and we’re friends
