Another Slap in the Face to the FM Community

Let me just preface this with, I’m not here to bash on T10 and make one of those poison threads of unnecessary hate and disdain. I believe criticism directed positively can serve its purpose to facilitate change and any negative opinion expressed below comes from the vain of disappointment, stagnation, and a bit of disrespect. I’d actually like to have a dialogue with T10, strangely they seem to shut down the threads and stay quiet YOU WERE WARNED

I want you all the to refer to the above links. And those of you who uninformed or lack the critical thinking skills to connect these dots (Btw I’m not trying to sound condescending and or pretentious, but there’s people who love to shame others here on the forums, when you call out the devs). But you probably are asking yourself what does that coming to RR3 have to do with T10 and FM7, I’m glad you asked its a slap in your face because a mobile game has beat out the developer who is “Strategically Aligned” with IMSA that has yet to bring any of those cars to this game that’s been out a year and a half…………… Well sorry my bad we have 2 2018 IMSA cars, how many different makes are in the field again??? Some thoughts:

  • Our newest IMSA prototype is 4 years old and is obsolete

  • The GT Audi isn’t even a GT3 car, and if it was it’d now be 2 generation behind the current. Yet the TCR RS3 was added

  • The AMG GT3 & 488 have been out since 2016, still a generation behind

  • I’m fair and balanced many of the evo cars just came out so its nothing to fuss over. I’m talking about the NSX, Hurican, & Porsche

  • Mclaren is now two generation behind, I was willing to take the 650S not the 720

  • I didn’t forget about the Hurican GT3, remember when that was supposed to come to Horizon, there was a bit of an uproar on the forums. So T10, did T10 things and put the Change Racing livery on the Super Trofeo car and sent it to everyone as if it was the GT3 car. Strangely that GT3 car is M.I.A., if someone finds it could you throw it in the lost and found please? Thank you

  • We’re really using a Super GT Nissan as a Nissan GT car. Alrighty then

  • The 2017 RSR drives like a dump truck, yet in real life is like the Ford, which is op in FM btw.

But I understand that to make sales quotas and all that, the game has to appeal to the masses and you’ve done. Cool, but my question is when you plan on appealing to the non drifters and non car collecting motorsport enthusiasts? You know the people who helped build the brand. I ask for a share of the pie bc you seemed to have given everyone a piece but us. All the drifting updates, SUVs, random production cars and vintage cars prove this. And if I was one of the people who bought the season pass, I’d be legit pissed off. Think of this:

  • Why do cars that would make sense in FH come to FM and vice versa (ie the ZR1 and Camaro SS 1LE are in FH4, yet FM7 gets drift Mustangs)
  • Why did FM7 get a Barrett Jackson car pack? It seems a no brainer to have a mock Barrett Jackson event and auction in FH4, where there would be limited edition cars that you can’t get anywhere else and have unique events.
  • And actually the same thing could’ve been said about the Hot Wheels pack, didn’t FH3 have a hot wheels expansion? That was fun btw

The lack of tracks is also an issue, I’ve said this many of times. I’ve said its quite pitiful all T10 did was bring back tracks that were already in FM7 plus one showcase track in Dubai. I’ve pointed out its strange that T10 was in RSA taking pics for their skyboxes and thats how they procured the GT2RS. Yet Porsche South Africa bought and refurbished the Kyalami circuit, yet its not in the game. Or how the Dubai circuit isn’t even in the city and the Dubai Autodrome exists. Now before some says they don’t want to segment the community with DLC expansions and stuff like. Alrighty no one said they had to cost, nor they had to be real world tracks. FM1 had by far the best original circuits of any FM game to date. Ironically many have yet to be seen to date since FM1. What the hell happened to Alpine Ring, Tokyo Circuit, Sunset Peninsula, The Good Rio, The Test Tracks, Pacific Shipyards.lol and the FULLLLLLLL New York Circuit?

Now I know race regulations is supposed to appeal to track racers. But to b truthful I don’t have much hope for race regulations. When you understand someone’s pattern and their history you’ll then have a good idea of where they are going. It didn’t help the new track limits have also befell me the wrong way. That is some of the laziest work you can do and it could’ve been easily made better. On many tracks in real life (bc this a “driving sim” right) the line takes you naturally wide or drivers go wide and it perfectly legal, yet here it makes it dirty. All you had to do was look at a race there or hell just view a lap. How hard is that? I’d actually prefer for private lobbies you give us a part of your dev tools so we can map custom track limits and turn off corner barriers.

And to counter on of the famous excuses I tend to hear is the development & testing takes so long to a paraphrase. My question is simply, why is it that you have Polyphony Digital who is far more obsessed with detail than T10, is able to to put out a new track every two months with cars for GTSport? And then you get the well GTSport had two more years of development. To me that holds no weight bc Forza 7 is FM6.2, when FM6 Apex could run on PC in 4K already with many of the tracks. Did they really have to do much to get the same game with the rest plus the 3 additional tracks, plus driver’s suits? (even GT does driver suits better and you can import custom vinyls)

O and a really quick note to those who say that your car feels good in freeplay but sucks when racing online. You don’t suck the braking and traction physics change when you go online sadly. Plus its like your steering lock is more narrow, thats why the car may feel like its understeering.

Because for every constructive thread here and on the discord, there are 50 “wheres my moms Honda crv already” and “to make forza 8 really cool we should get a tank!” Type threads. Ms haven’t realized yet that when you try to please every one you wind up spreading everything so thin that no one is happy. The core market nowadays seems to be the people that play the game for 2 weeks then never touch it again. They seem to have finally realized this after fm7s release which we dont know the sales numbers for but it’s safe to say by their reaction that they know the screwed up and realized they were going down a bit of an ea/madden path. Hopefully they can turn it around

Edit
Also, like call of duty maps, forza needs to rethink the dlc model for tracks. Adding tracks half way through the games life cycle that they cant add to the multiplayer track rotation makes it essentially pointless as the only way you can use it is in private lobbies or whatever singleplayer challenges. For tracks to work as dlc, especially if you’re going to go aggressive and copy GT, they have to be free

New tracks as part of updates. Sounds like a great idea.

Race rules where you get run off the track and end up getting a penalty. I hope that doesn’t happen. I hope we also get the option to turn certain rules on and off for private lobbies.

Also I would like to see qualifying sessions added as optional for private lobbies. And have tire wear and fuel consumption mean something. It means nothing unless you’re doing a 12 lap race around Nordschliefe.

Please continue to use the separate Wish List threads pinned in the FM7 discussion forum.
