AMERICAN STREET MUSCLE DRAG RACING MULTIPLAYER HOPPER Can’t choose more than 1 car.
All my 60’s and 70’s muscle cars are below 650 HP and RWD. If I press X it tells me there is no restrictions for this hopper event. But none of my cars show up as a choice. Some of my friends have this exact same issue.
I even took all of my muscle cars back to bone stock (as a test) and I still cannot choose any of them! They do not show up in the list in that Multiplayer mode. I can only choose my 1970 El Camino SS 454 but only if I keep it’s index below B/587. I CAN’T SWAP THE REAR END ON IT or it will not show up to choose in Drag racing mode. Then I have no car to choose other than BUY ONE I already own. Tons of other people can take that same car and upgrade to A (just under S) and use it! But not me!
I have reinstalled the game.
I have tried cold rebooting (Unplugging it) MANY TIMES.
This is one of my favorite parts of Forza. Other players are able to choose cars at will. (A) class even! No one online knows the answer or cares. They all get to drive any car they want but I can’t even choose a stock one? WTH!? (I CAN ENTER ALL OF MY CARS INTO CLASS RACES WITH NO ISSUES. Just not Drag racing)
Cars everyone else can use (upgrade to high A class) except me.
'77 Trans Am
'73 Firebird Trans AM SD-455
'59 Nova SS 396
'68 Hurst/Olds 442
'69 GTO Judge
'69 Camaro SS Coupe
'69 Mustang Boss 302
Well you get the idea. All the classic muscle cars I love I can’t use. Please, if anyone knows a way to fix this I am all ears man, Thanks.
I had this exact same issue. Whats weird is if you change your build and get 650 hp a different way it will show up. Ive seen that before while tuning with a friend my car didnt show up but his did and the only difference was his car weighed 3 pounds more.
Hey thanks for the response. I spent hours adding one part (or taking one off) to my cars one at a time and loading drag racing over and over and could never get my cars to show up in the choice list but others could. I thought that would be a work around but I have yet to figure out the trick that is working for some people. Either that, or it’s bug that only some of us have to deal with. I’m leaning towards the latter after all of my testing.
Im sure T10 is aware of the issue but you should email them. I cant remember the email but hopefully somebody will read this and post the email address.
Hey, yeah I was hoping someone from T10 would see this and look into it. I’m reinstalling my game yet again in a desperate attempt to fix this. This sucks…
I have the same problem man. It wont let me choose any other car but my El Camino. Iv’e tried taking the car back in the hopper bone stock like you did and it worked so I tried loading the tune I made for that hopper and it said I couldn’t use this tune because of the restrictions. Thanks for making a post about it hope T10 see’s this and or is already working on it.
Hey thanks for posting that you have this issue too. The more people that speak up the better the chance we have of a fix happening (sooner than later). Spread the word to anyone you know to post here.
Will do man… I should have been more specific the car that it wouldnt let me choose was the '70 Chevelle thats the car it wouldnt let me load a tune on.
Anyone know a work around trick for this? Myself and countless others would really appreciate it a lot. I have been searching for weeks for anything about this with zero results.
It appears there is also a weight requirement. From what I can tell, the requirements seem to be:
Body Family = American Motorsport or American Street Muscle
Drive = RWD
HP<651
Weight>3000 (I haven’t narrowed that down exactly but it appears to be the likely cutoff)
This would explain why the Corvette C1 (GT Legends) is not available even though it weighs more than 3000 lbs, and the Ford Mustang '65 becomes available when tuned.
I thought weight was the issue as well at one point. I played around with the weight with no luck. I can’t even get bone stock cars to show up as a choice in Drag racing. I appreciate people trying to figure this out though. Someone is bound to stumble over the answer the more we talk about it. Or T10 is bound to look into this and let us know what the issue is. (Or fix it).
I can use my El Camino 454 with all the parts that will remove weight. The one part the makes it not a choice for sure is when I swap the rear end. That swap takes my launch to (10) but sadly the car won’t show up as a choice then. When I do that my only option is [BUY A CAR]
I have found that I have to keep my El Camino at [B/ 587] to be able to use it. Yet other players can swap to any car they want including the El Camino 454 and have it upgraded to a high A class (just a hair under S class). Which is total BS since I am going to get smoked without them even trying every time. I first thought this was a glitch or an exploit losers were using (as the host) to make it so they won every time. But I am leaning the other way now since I was able to be the first player in a room before others joined and the problem still persisted even after a cold reboot.
UPDATE: I reinstalled the game etc. yet again. Still the same issue.
I’m still messing with this. I was FINALLY able to get my '73 Firebird into this mode at A/ 604. But I cannot go a hair higher with it. Finding the combo of parts to allow that to happen was ridiculous. And yet lots of other players can get the same car up in the high A 670’s and Drag race it. They can even switch cars in the lobby back and forth. But I cannot.
I messed around with a theory by bringing the car in at A/ 604 and then using the Quick upgrade option to get it up into the A/ 670’s but then I get an error saying the rules have changed and the car disappears from my list and I then have 1 car less to use. It prompts me to choose another car.
I have noticed some players car index number changing right before the start of the race (on the car they already chose). Especially if my A/ 604 car smoked their A/ 639 car in the last race. Or if the race was too close for comfort for them. They instantly upgrade theirs to just under S/ class and take off from the start line as if I am standing still while they have rocket boost. Some serious BS.
This hopper needs to have an option. “RUN WHAT’CH YA BRUNG” And a set class and or area of upgrades that can be used for that race only. You know,… a bracket.
Decimating 3 drivers in a D/ class with my B or A class is boring. I love a close race. Knowing I am going to win before the race even loads is a snore for me. A lot of wimps think this is great to have an unfair advantage. But where is the fun or sport in that? What is the point even?
I don’t think I have the solution but a few things I would like to ask or point out.
Sometimes when there is a hp restriction like 650hp it actually means less than 650hp. So some cars that say 650hp will be allowed but presumably only if it is 649.9 or less.
Also the list of cars in the OP are not all street muscle. According to ManteoMax spreadsheet the following is the list:
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS-454
1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454
1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409
1966 Chevrolet Nova SS
1969 Chevrolet Nova SS 396
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1968 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 442
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge
Edit: I just saw ManteoMax say there are two body styles included so the list may be longer than the above.
Yeah I do understand the weight/HP restriction and trust me on that one. lol I’ve been screwing with this for a long time with not much to show. Keep in mind I can’t even get BONE STOCK cars to be available. Which are heavy, and very weak in HP compared to the upgraded cars other players are able to use at will.
And the OP car list I made does not include all the cars for that Hopper that can be used. I just used cars I commonly see being used in that event. Despite what some cars may lead us to believe. There seems to be no set rule when trying this with different cars. What works on one car is a no go for may others.
Car 1 could be 3,084 lbs., 643 HP (at a high B class). With the right parts combo, it might be allowed in (just barely). Car 2 could be set up the same way and still not be available to use (even at 3,387 lbs., with less HP, and indexed at a lower B class) And yet, 3-5 other racers in the lobby have the same car as me and have it upgraded to A/ 678 etc. and are able to use them. Those races blow. They take off like a rocket on jet fuel (like I’m standing still) which makes it seem like my car is bone stock even though it’s not.
I even see them using the quick upgrade option in the lobby changing the cars index up and down in the A class area. If I try that, bam, I get an error saying the rules have changed and my car is taken away and I am prompted to chose another. And usually I have no other choice but to buy a stock car I already own.
Frustrating to say the least. And huge time waster trying to figure out with no results most of the time. I like to tune, but this is annoying. I just want to race.
