AI: freeplay vs career

Any programmers out there that can answer this? The AI in career mode shows drivatar liveries, but they don’t in freeplay. Also the higher powered cars like P1 & Indy cars run off the track for no reason in freeplay, while in career mode they are able to stay on track. If Turn 10 can get it right in career mode why can’t they fix these problems in freeplay?

Pure guess here, I reckon the AI in career aren’t Drivatars, in free play they are.

That could make sense as far as driver performance, but If AI in career are not drivatars & they are drivatars in freeplay, then why won’t the custom liveries show up in freeplay? Not trying to be a jerk…just pointing it out.

Another guess, if the career opponents are pre-set AI then the liveries are too. Maybe they can’t access livery info from Drivatars?

I doubt it, because that would be a whole lot of work for Turn 10 to come up with pre-set liveries.

I see a lot of Cyan cat liveries on Lamborghini Huracan’s in FH3, maybe that livery is allocated a number, and each AI has a random number associated to it so not really that much work. I’m doing far to much reverse engineering on this subject tbh

It just seems like it should be an easy fix. I’m hoping they fix the running off the track issue more than anything though. I don’t like career mode because you can’t choose the tracks even after completing the whole series.

Because the Free Play mode has been neglected since FM5 at least.

Drivatars are Drivatars anywhere. Drivatar is not about pace, but behavior. And it so happens that many of the mistakes they make are actually common mistakes by real players. AWD cars understeer, and people who can’t handle understeer end up in gravel traps.

The AI’s difficulty also depends on the division. Forza GT guys are pretty difficult compared to, say, Hot Hatch Icons. My theory is that the overall skill level of Forza GT players is far above that of C and D-class divisions.

I agree freeplay mode has been horrible this go round. But I still can’t figurr out why they can navigate the track in career & somebody won’t put the same code or whatever they need to put in to fix the freeplay mode. Also, the Nissan GT-R LMP1 car can navigate the track. Just look at Road America for example. The Nissan can make it safely around the carousel, but the Porsche 919s and Audi R18s can not. So frustrating
