Waiting for a new Playlist to drop in FH4 felt boring. Waiting for a new Playlist to drop in FH5 feels tedious. Now FM should go beyond those two failures and just give us all cars added in an Update in the Showroom from the beginning. I have just downloaded the Update 2.0 and I’ve got nothing to do besides waiting for the new races to become available. I can’t even use the cars ported over from FM7 with zero changes!
Will this decrease the amount of people coming back to play the game? The lack of actual new cars is enough. Even putting just the recycled cars in the Car Showroom would give players something to do while we’re waiting for the new Tours to become available.
You really beat me to this, as I was gonna make a suggestion based on this.
A lot of gameplay systems of FM8 really encourage bad behaviors on both the developers’ and players’ part, be it come-and-go, holding content back, or waiting games.
Here’s the breakdown:
-
“Come and go” mechanics/time-limited rewards with cars from the Open Series and Featured Tours
-
Not releasing cars immediately as soon as they’re released or showcased (this even goes as far back as pre-alpha builds of the game and footage from a year ago), which leads to long waiting games.
Already the weekly car drop from the Car Pass was a bad idea in itself, given it features a 30-car plan which started on October 5th, with a car delivery every week, this could mean that the Car Pass would last until April 25th.
In GT7, whenever a new update is out, all new cars are instantly released into their respective dealerships, but those in the Used and Legendary car dealerships have a finite sale time before they’re rotated in real time (they last longer than some other cars though).
