A new idea to stop wreckers

Stopping the complaining won’t help. Sure you may not be their immediate target but they are going to keep wrecking.

Then again the wreckers don’t always speak the same language or have a headset on.

Penalties will stop wreckers. At the moment there are no penalties built within the game.

Wont work plain and simple…Kids dont care if you say anything on chat, and by the way chat doesnt even work 75 percent of time…They get off on crashing you and thats it.Words fuel the fire more but honestly that doesnt matter either…If you want clean racing you have to go to a subscription based pc game where the company has rules in place and ENFORCED.They have the coin to do it because of membership fees etc… Forza does not.You buy game and thats it…End of revenue unless you buy extra content but thats not enough cash flow for them to monitor the game play…Forza has been and always will be a childrens game and played that way…Zebra will not change its stripes ever…

If your an Olympic player then your probably training and competing on private tracks, even an olympic star will still have to deal with dogs on the track, kids playing football and any number of other difficulties if they pop down to their local public park.

There was a time when online racing was predominantly clean, people didn’t crash into you on purpose, they didn’t verbally assault you, and if they missed and bumped into you they actually would apologize…

I know this sounds too hard to believe but back on the original Xbox there was a game called Project Gotham Racing 2 where everything I just described was the norm. So what’s the difference between back then and now? Its simple really, back then every online room had a Host/leader who controlled everything in the room. He controlled everyone’s behavior because he had the sole power to boot anyone in the room! Because of this, everyone in a room would abide by whatever rules the Host mandated. Hence if the host was a dirty racer, then the room would be dirty, if the Host had a foul mouth, the whole room would have a foul mouth. Back then people would search out hosts who they knew ran games the way they liked and so everyone was happy. Even the crashers were happy because they could crash as much as they wanted in a room where that was allowed.

So what happened to change all this? Halo 2! With Halo 2 came Matchmaking which basically put you in a room with a random host who did not have any power to do anything. With Matchmaking came the classic Toxic online behavior which we all know and hate today. As long as folks know there are no immediate consequences for their behavior in a room, they will continue to be jerks…

I would suggest that Turn 10 follow the lead of PGR2 and establish Hosts who have the power to boot anyone who races dirty.

I remember back in the PGR2 days where you got to meet random people daily and really built up good friendships all because everyone knew they had to race clean. Yes people actually apologized when they missed and hit you. They would even slow down to allow you back in front of them if they slighted you by mistake. This was the norm, it was the best online social experience I have had with any game ever!.

Matchmaking is not all that its hyped up to be, a server browser system (which is basically what Im describing) creates a much better social experience…

IMHO

If they had forced auto-braking, it would help a LOT for the non-intentional wrecks.

So your answer is to take 70% of the skill factor out of the game?

Races are won n lost in the breaking zones.

The game is built around players who can’t drive what do you expect turn 10 wont do anything since most of turn 10s revenue is with noobs trust me nothing substantial will be done to stop it at least in this game.Unless the big bosses are welling to take a bit hit revenue wise keep dreaming.Remember this game will never be a gran turismo or like a iracing so it’s best to accept that.

I hope it’s never a gran turismo. After years of being a Sony fan man and gran turismo fan man I found forza 4. No more Sony for me and definitely no more gran turismo.
iracing you pay a subscription specifically for that game. Certainly based upon what I’ve seen I will look into it but Forza is my racer for the moment.

I meant the online racing quality the racers on gran turismo and iracing are much better racing quality then forza what do people expect when you have a game that encourages assist using that’s where the problem is with forza turn 10 built a game that you can play even if you have half a brain so that’s what your going to get with online racing.I’ve quit complainin about it cause I know how turn 10 think.

I occasionally wonder if the thing to do isn’t, and please hear me out on this, to try making a “Wrecker room.” Seriously, make a demolition derby style lobby where the whole point is to bash the daylights out of each other. I’ll admit it, my friends and I occasionally do it (PRIVATELY!!! not in public rooms!) and have for years in almost every game we’ve ever played together, almost everybody reading this has done it once in a while, and we’ve all laughed maniacally at the resulting mayhem. Basically, the idea here is, give them something more fun to do in their world, and maybe people who want to race or drift might be left alone? Worth a shot, perhaps? Won’t fix everything, mis-matching cars on the track together (I’m looking at you, F1 vs. Indy guys, and hypercar and GT guys), people who just can’t drive (umm…), and win at all cost types are obviously not going to be fixed by this, but could it help, especially since quite a lot of what I’ve seen is people retaliating against a troll, who might not be there in the first place if there’s something more interesting to do.

I speak as someone who, while admittedly not the greatest driver (pretty terrible, really), plays only in private races now due to the behavior I’ve seen online. I’ve had some really good battles with good clean racers (once went almost 3/4 of the way around Rio with a guy side by side, not once was there contact. Best online race ever!), even if it was for 11th and 12th sometimes, only to have some moron start crashing everybody and chase off the good ones. I’d really like to have more of those great battles.

Lol maybe bring back car soccer might be the answer maybe.wait till forza horizon 3 comes out most of the wreakers will play that.

The biggest problem I see when it comes to this crap is that people complain and complain and cry about the ding ding wreckers, BUT THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!!! What’s the point of complaining if you don’t record the videos and report the wreckers??? What’s the point of complaining when you don’t VOTE TO KICK??? In my mind, people who complain but yet do nothing about anything are just as bad.

Possible solution? how about T10 stiffen the penalties? 1st offense 2 weeks. 2nd 1 month. 3rd you’re gone

I am not spending 2 hours reporting every single game I’ve ever been in

#1…You need too many votes to kick. #2 When you report someone for wrecking, don’t you think it should be on purpose. A lot of it is just bad driving and no skills. I certainly would not want to be reported for a mistake, it does happen. I said it 100’s of times…all that is needed is a hopper for experienced drivers, 3yrs. plus. No way around that. Anyone racing for 3+ yrs. really enjoys the game and is there for RACING!.. Not wrecking.

I actually have a bunch of recorded videos of many wreckers from the past week or so. Do you know a way to send it to moderators?

That is the current penalties
1 week
1 month
Then permanent

That’s applies to the gamer tag which is pointless as another gt can be used to continue trolling. Ban the console instead for the periods that the gamer tag is currently banned and watch how people’s attention( especially mummy’s and daddy’s who let the little ones run rampant) quickly comes to focus.

In previous versions if you pulled any shenanigans that affected T10 or Ms they’d ban the console outright. I know this to be true as I bought a used XB 360 off Craigslist that had been banned previously and there was no getting around it. It was blacklisted, end of story. Buy a new one if you want to be online. So apparently they have no problem doing that to protect themselves but the other paying customers? Not so much.

That is an incorrect statement. Certain violations of the Xbox Live Code of Conduct receive permanent gamertag/console bans, but the general “common” violations are stepped through (1) seven days (168 hours) from the time placed by a Turn 10 employee, (2) 30 days (720 hours) or (3) permanent. If they haven’t learned that the regulations are fully enforced after two bans, they are no longer allowed to play with others in the game.

As for “blacklisted” consoles, that is not from Turn 10 except for individual games. The Policy Enforcement Team (PET) and Xbox Live can and does totally remove gamertags and consoles from subscribed accounts. But only PET does that, Turn 10 doesn’t have the capabilities or the same system as used by the Xbox Live PET folks.
