a class cars to use track to track for online circuits?

what you using? i seem to pick the most drifty cars with no assists on every track i think i need traction control on lol

Depends on the track… Or what kind of mood I’m in. I’ve got everything from a 300c to Lotus

Have specific cars for specific tracks. Use the LB’s to see what the fastest times are, then see if your cars are close. Most of the time you can set up one or two cars to cover most tracks, with special cars for tracks like LeMans. Personally, I tend to take cars that I really like to race and try to make them competitive.

its the tune more than the car. a good tune on an average car will beat a bad tune on a great car. and what is a good tune for one track may be a bad tune on another track.

That’s why i’m asking what people use track to track

I saw that everything I’d written above this had already been mentioned in fewer words, so it probably wasn’t helping…most people aren’t going to be able to tell you the best car for every track off the top of their head, which means going to the leaderboards to check what they used…which you could have just done in the first place (by picking a car in the class you want, then pressing Y in the track layout selection screen; in case you didn’t know).

The amount of time it would take to have a comprehensive list completed by getting one or two solid car/track combinations from each person in the thread would be enormous, and it doesn’t seem like you find any other type of answer to be satisfactory.

But perhaps you’re trying to spark discussion rather than looking for answers? If that’s the case; I recently built an A class '94 Civic hatchback that goes pretty well around Positano (top 2000 easily and capable of at least a second faster). You won’t find many FWD cars near the top of that track’s leaderboard, and this was also the first car I spent any serious time tuning. Even on tracks that it’s quite ill-suited to, I can still get top 4-5% times. Despite its capabilities, it’s hardly the easiest car to drive fast; mostly because the chassis isn’t really meant to handle the amount of power I put in it. I wouldn’t really recommend using it for that reason.

That’s just one example of why you’re not likely to get much personal satisfaction by asking people what they like to use. Apparently no one thought much of the Civic & I’m sure I didn’t maximize its potential, yet it’s still competitive. On the other hand, I know of many cars that can produce equal or better times and require much less effort to do so.

^^Thats a good theory…

leaderboard car’s are not always great for racing online.

Sure they are, that’s why they’re leaderboard cars! The cars you see at the top of the LB’s are generally the best in that class. Ability is also a big factor. A good driver can be competitive in a lesser car. A poor driver will not be competitive regardless.

Some leaderboard cars actually are nasty online. They’re tuned for the one special lap rather than race life. Hence, some just aren’t consistent and might perhaps be unsettled when battling for track position.

When you’re on your own you have the track to yourself and any mistakes are punished by dirty laps and having to go around again to go for the ultimate lap. If you mess up online it could throw away your result or ruin someone else’s even.

Equally some cars are glorious to drive. However I agree with your last point, the human behind the wheel is the biggest variable in these situations.

To the OP: Have a gander around the tuning forum as I think you may have before to see what A class cars people have. Try them for yourself, see how they do it, and then use that knowledge for future reference. Then also look at the leaderboards to see what cars are there. And from that work out what kind of cars each track favour. Replays from the leaderboard can help you decipher their builds, how much power, and what tyres they have, and weight reduction or roll cages, etc.

The best way to learn is to get stuck in yourself and go for it

right once a lotus 2 eleven gets smashed into at corner your done. side by side your done.

i see leader board cars online all the time they get bossed. plus i don’t like using leaderboard cars and i have no clue what cars are good in any class.

The Ferrari 360CS is great for online racing. You should definitely give it a go.

i think everyone missed the question op asked.

i rock a c4 corvette for almost all the tracks. dodge daytona on speed tracks. and a vauxhal astra when i just want to have fun fwd.

i really enjoy fwd in a class brings a challenge and a sleeper is always cool.

now where getting some where. i don’t tune i don’t watch replays i just race and buy tunes

I have one car to one track and just one drift car. Every track needs own race car if you ask me.

I can see why that would be. But for some reason I want to stick with one car and use it for every track. Maybe just tune it differently for each track. Or like one or two cars. I think I’m a simpleton or something.
