60 fps mode on Xbox One X question (and One S ?)

I`ve just played the demo on xbox one x and it still cant hold the so called locked 60fps , in some races it has framerate drops

Not a good thing. In Gears 4, which uses a similar system, you had some drops in performance mode as well, though in areas without enemies.

Hey,
since im looking to buy a console in a few weeks, i started wondering if horizon 4 will be 60fps on the xbox one s version, like it did on horizon 3.
If not then im probably gonna have to buy the one x version.

Yeah, sorry, if you bought Xbox One X expecting 4K Horizon at 60fps then you’re out of your mind. That takes a premium setup that would cost you far more.

You know there was a time when MS said us that Forza will be only xbox one exclusieve. I bought xbox one in 2014 only for Forza series. But after that Forza leaked on PC. It was unfair. PC should stay in “reservation” and get only multiplatform games. Play Anywhere was a very bad idea. Console gaming and PC gaming are differend things. They must be separated as it was earlier.

”Facepalm”

I can’t even…
Why? Why is it unfair and why ’must’ they be separated? :joy:

No it shouldn’t. The play anywhere initiative has been great for gaming. I play on Xbox one X and PC with ultrawide monitor. One i play for casual games the other i play because since my stroke i need extra methods of interacting with games that don’t come as standard. The new adaptive controller will help some with that but i also need some software which the xbox doesn’t have.
Don’t think that just because you think it’s bad that’s an end to it. Because for people like me that is never going to be an end to it.
We don’t get to just shrug off our disabilities because you think we shouldn’t play your games because we’re on PC. That’s not how it works and never will be.

So am correct?.. Xbox 1 S not X I should set the res to 1080 but tick the allow boxes to gain 4K (upscaled not native) when it can? And that will run at mostly 60fps, I’m currently playing with 4K hdr ticked and lower MHz ticked if allowed? Thanks

I’ve also found out that my LG oled panel refreshes at 120fps so should I match that with the 120hz so it refreshes at the same rate as the output?

So 1080/120hz

And I’ve also found out it’s a 10bit panel so I’m guessing 10bit for colour depth too??
Or am I answering my own questions lol

You really can’t go back to 4K/30 after playing in 1080p/60 for a few days. You lose all sense of speed, of control. Whenever I switch I feel like I had a stroke and can’t keep my car on the road anymore. Yes, after a while you can readjust, but for me the 60 fps mode will be what I use from now on. Even picture quality seems to be better because of reduced post processing and because the LOD popups aren’t so visible (probably because they are only 1/4th of the pixels compared to the same object in 4K, which means less pixels change). For next gen, I hope PG goes for 4K/60 as the standard. The best racing game series should have the best racing game frame rate.

Do you remember the golden era of xbox 360? There was no social or PCs connected to xbox live. Games and services worked much better. But on xbox one things have changed dramatically: services do not withstand the load, games are full of bugs (developers are torn between consoles and PCs). Social became a cancer, PC cheaters appeared in the games… In other words: “Carthage must be destroyed”. PCs must be disconnected from xbox live. There is a special service for PC gamers - Steam, so play in it.
Nothing offensive, just thoughts.

Consoles are just low end PC’s with specialised operating systems these days so there’s nothing really different to develop. Make it look and run good on a PC, then keep nerfing it until it looks rubbish enough to run on a console. Simple. :joy:

It seems that you are too young to remember what true console gaming is meaning. Simple

My first console was a NES around ‘89, and I’ve owned every single console and handheld since (excluding Sega), except for the Wii-U. So no, obviously I don’t know what ‘true console gaming’ is.

True console gaming was not meaning simple. It was meaning casual if anything and even that’s a stretch.
Also he’s talking about modern consoles, you’re being deliberately obtuse!

It’s ok Chojinzo they are obviously trolling judging by some of the more outlandish things they’ve said. Just ignore them and carry on with your day.
