Racing at Catalunya and all is well mid-field in B class. I was 4th in my 190E and a Clio V6 was 3rd. Close racing but I had him in the corners but couldn’t keep up on the straights. Minor ‘rubbing’ from both parties with nothing untoward. Down the long back straight into the sharp right hairpin on the final lap and all good. Next right hander I had the inside line and contact was made at the apex. Nothing major or intentional. Both going neck and neck to the same corner. No knocks off the track and I kept off the racing line as I knew he was on the outside; me on the right and Clio on the left. Me thinking this is going to be close and sending Clio driver a gg. Right hander before the short straight to the last chiccane he suddenly goes all American cop on me and lays into me hard and does the t-bone bulldozer thing and pushes me into the gravel and I’m out.
The minor rubbing was going on all race and nobody lost their lines particularly in what I though was a well matched race. Even the last corner I didn’t pull in front of/into the Clio knowing it was there and yet… rant over. Good night
I don’t get the point of this post. Just a venting post?
Welcome to Forza 5
Yeah, you never can tell. Some peeps just get so wrapped up in it that they seem fine and then blam, some wiring goes wrong and they take you out.
*** I assume its a venting post. When you let your guard down and the racing is good… Those are the worst when someone deliberately wrecks/ pits,/ pins you that you have been running with out incident. It’s almost half expected in the beginning of the race, but to go turn for turn with some one for a bunch of laps and then they pull that, its almost more disappointing then had they done it from the beginning of the race.
i’ve lost count of the amount of times this has happened to me you have a few laps of brilliant racing then boom last corner your in the wall. even had one send me a good race message after just to add insult to injury
sounds like you rubbed him the wrong way
did you talk to him after? he had all race to take you out and didn’t so maybe something happened and it was accidental. i sneezed once and took the leaders out, i apologized and we all went on to the next race and one of them asked me about it again, saying i was afraid to say anything after wrecking everyone. i reminded them i had apologized then someone else agreed with them. i looked down and there was a little orange diagonal light between my wrists. my mic was on mute. i toggled the mute button and apologized for both mistakes then they started laughing. i told them i was starting to get upset for having to apologize so may times before i noticed i was on mute, i thought they were being jerks. one told me no problem, they thought i was being a jerk too. i felt about two inches tall. both the wreck and the mute were my fault, but neither was intentional.
Yup just a vent. Would tell the wife but she wouldn’t care. Nobody had mics on…I guess it may have helped but it was just the randomness of what I thought was going OK. I had been in a ramfest the previous game and was pleased to be getting a good race. Both sides had given the odd knock. Yup I guess it was the shock of it after a good race. If it was obvious that there were rammers in the race then ‘meh, whatever’ but at the end of a good race. I guess the last touch was the final straw…perhaps there should be some sort of blood pressure monitor/rage gauge armband that peeps can wear and so you know when they have had enough:)
the kinnect does have that via pulse monitorring. perhaps turn ten could enable it and ghost people when their pulse was too high.
It could have been many things. I always give others the benefit of the doubt. If the same thing occurs for several races in a row, that’s when you know for sure.
I’ve ran into many many people, some of them good long time racing buddies. Every now and then, you see a gap (where there is none) and think you can pull it off and boom. When in public lobby with strangers, you just cannot take things too seriously or you’ll go mad. Chalk it up as a racing incident then move on.
I know the wife doesn’t care story all too well!
And if the pulse is above 150 bpm, one should get a Nitro boost for 5 seconds.
I’ve had stuff happen as well on some races. Turned out someone’s controller decided to disconnect/empty LITERALLY yards before the finish. His car veered into my side, took me out and we both hit the wall inches from the finishing line. Luckily the lead was comfortable enough for me to continue and take 1st place but the other guy was just plain unlucky; he finished last eventually.
hhahahahha, i have had something very similar happen. My controller died and I wiped out a handful of people who did not deserve it. I had to send them all messages afterwards.
