24h night/day cycle "faked" real time shadows [engine limitation] / sudden appearance of daylight

I think I ve began to see the cranks and ducttaped broken parts of this game. and what I ve witnessed is beyond acceptable.

I did a 24x cycle of Spa and noticed that the “real time shadows” are teleporting suddenly every 4 seconds (havent timed it) while its not very noticable when you drive, it happens sometimes and it’s very unsettling.

  • Realtime shadows is not much of a CPU hinderance, the CPU load of this game is pretty mid, so Xbox series X and S have room to make real time shadows or at least tick the shadows teleport every minute (realtime) to make this more noticable

As for the sudden appareance of daylight test it yourself : Free play Spa with a car without any headlights at 5am or 6am, go to a darker places unlited by track side lights and wait for the sunrise, dusk light goes smoothly. and suddenly BAM ! the light COMPLETELY CHANGES. makes it unrealistic as it was like a lightswitch on/off. like a frantic cartoon when day goes up all of a sudden.

yeah Im leaving the game, too much bandaids around the old game program code.
Invested in the game for the long run only, will be back with added tracks and all. until then.

Cannot play it at it’s current state.

After further inverstigation, I think its a en engine related issue with no solutions possible or maybe some serious modifications not worth the time for the devs if I can say that tbh.
Unreal engine 4.0 game Assetto Corsa : Competizione gets the same issue with snapping shadows for TOD (time of day) cycle, sorry for the blame in that case.

Anyways for the sudden daylight issue, there is something to do I hope.
