You’re doing fine Tarry, although I think you may be still forgetting to Open the photo in your Gallery BEFORE you save it to your computer. The result is that a small photo gets saved to your computer and then it gets grainy and loses resolution when you open it in flickr and post it here in the forums.
For koiftt’s and FA Racing’s convenience, I narrowed the set of photos to be judged by each of them.
For Comp. #2, I chose what I thought was the best one of the koiftt photos that each of you each submitted and forwarded them to FA Racing 01. Those 20 photos are below…
For Comp. #3, I chose what I thought was the best photo from each of the sets of Dutch Auction cars that were submitted and forwarded them to koiftt. Those 29 photos are below…
I asked koiftt and FA Racing 01 to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. I will do the same for Photo Comp. #1. I hope to have the results shortly.
For purposes of judging Photo Comp. #1, I narrowed each of your 11 race photos down to my two favorites for each of you. I will select 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the following 38 photos below…
So the judges will be choosing from these above you picked out? Or can they look back at the ones on Page 1?
Thanks again for running and hosting this comp, not a bad turn out considering the forums activity levels these days. Bravo, Sir…Bravo.
Well, they CAN look back at all the photos, but due to time constraints, I think they will probably choose from the subsets I sent them (as shown above).
By way of example, I narrowed koiftt’s choices from 87 down to 29 photos, and I narrowed FA RACING’s choices from about 100 down to 20 photos. I even narrowed my choices from around 200 down to 38 photos (and then down again to 14).
Surprisingly, FA’s and my “favorites” were VERY similar. Still waiting to see what koiftt’s thoughts are…
22 separate entries - I’m very pleased with that turnout. I would have liked to have seen a few more photos of the Dutch Auction cars, but 29 out of 50 isn’t bad…
Same here, but that is to be expected. A ton of great photos. It was fun. I have to admit one of mine that is in your set was the one I spent way too much time on. Sometimes shots just aren’t right, but you know you can fix them. Other times, they are done immediately.
Yes, it is obviously extremely subjective and I didn’t want the same person (me) judging all three comps. Too easy to manipulate the results. I could have opened the voting to all of you, but I really want to wrap this up quickly and get everyone’s credits and cars out to them.
I’m dead serious when I say that all 20 of the photos I sent to FA Racing could have won Comp. #2 and I wouldn’t have been surprised. And all 14 of the photos that I narrowed it down to in Comp. #1 could have won. However, there are about 4 photos of the 29 that I sent koiftt that really stand out to me, but we’ll see what he thinks. I haven’t shared my favorites with koiftt to keep it fair.
Given the amount of photos taken, I think its a good idea. Even just browsing through them and enjoying everyone of them takes longer than you think. And I must have looked through them several times.
No way could I choose favourites, outstanding effort from everyone in my eyes.
First a huge thanks to Nacho for organizing another great event. Extremely flattered that he chose races i hosted and even my own paints to base his comp on.
And extremely grateful for everybody that took photos. What an ego boost to have great foztographers snap pics of my cars. Wow, just wow!
Comp #1
A win, really? Not sure how i pulled that off! Thank you! Cant take prize cras though, the only room i have in my garage for my paints are on cars i run in the Bigtime Muscle races. Will take the credits though, i can put them to bad use!
Thanks for the comments on the shot of Skyhauks rasputin too, very picky when it comes to not using the whole car in frame, still not sure i got it right in this one. Actually preferred my shot of me in Dreads Ikki Nova, but that might be because it’s Nacho driving the car in the foreground that’s being beat (its normally the other way round!)
Bullrot did a fantastic in the shadows of the trees, very nice
Love the twins Dean!
Comp #2
Again a big thank you to everyone. Gotta agree with the winner, and, yes, THAT shot from CFunk. We need more photo comps that BTM don’t run, Steven, Funk and Kool surprised the heck out of me with incredible photos
Love how Cmitch matched the layout of the paint with the in game filter here.
Comp #3
Here’s how i called this comp.
Well, Pocket Poncho uk’s 2.1 sticks out because it’s bright flipping yellow. And it’s sticking it’s furry tongue out.
HOWEVER it’s his 3.1 i’m choosing as the winner. The extra colouring just yells fun. i would of been tempted to slow the shutter down to seperate the kerbing colours, but that may of thrown the feel that if you want in on the fun, you best keep up. isn’t that what racing well painted cars really fast is all about?
And thats where me and your list part ways. my second place is paunchysix44’s 2.1 ambience, reflections, little stripe of cobbles throws in asymmetry and breaks up the monochrome.
Third place is KoolIROCZ1967’s 3.1. I’ve never seen a distance shot show so much of the paint. The evolution mini going forth and spreading life into an empty world.
Honorable mention is Cfunks 1.2, simple yet works so well with MC’s “expression”. And Cmitch’s 2.3, all those signs yet its the car that has it all to say.
I can’t remember I’ve collected Camaros from the people listed above. If you haven’t been paid yet, please put up your Camaros and message me. I will not be able to pick up cars on Wednesday.
