First off i have a Thrustmaster 458 italia race wheel and pedals, there is no forcefeedback and no rumble pack its just a simple USB plug and play…
Now i just got my XBOX ONE with BF4 as a package, and its annoying me with its issue’s after maybe a day spent playing.
So i am looking at other games and i wanted to know IF i bought FM5 could / would this Race Wheel work with no issue’s as it doesnt need any special support.
Second i have heard all sorts about FM5 very mixed attitude to whats good and whats not and also the talk of everything being micro transactioned which begs the question is this even worth buying is there anything in the actual game or are we talking a serious money spend to get any resembalance of a game for MP ?
I want to say i understand that, and as stupid as this may sound its a simple USB so assumably logicaly thinking because there is no compatability issue with force feedback or rumble because it doesnt have it my logic is in the fact the functions should still trigger the same …
NOTE UPDATE:
Also thanks for your replys, also wanted to say that from the way i percieved the supposed issues were because teh likes of controllers had different ports like fire wire for head set as apposed to the old small jack for 360 and teh fact the code was different for force feedback and rumble on xbox one.
But since teh wheel and peddles etc dont have those hence above logical thought.
As to micro transactions yes they have them but what game nowadays does not have them. You do not need to purchase anything else to enjoy the game. If you want to buy DLC packs to get more cars but that is no different from any of the older versions of the game.
I dont know about the wheel but it is being marketed as having force feedback.
As for the game it is the same as all games in the fact that people with always find issues with it. I haven’t play a race game since FM2, I have spent hours playing the game without being bored and I have barely touched the career mode. Private lobbies, online lobbies and the rivals modes and all enjoyable when you have a group of friends to play with. I got VIP and car pass and I think it was money while spent.
I know there are mixed opinions about the game, but quite frankly I enjoy it. I am not a lapper, an artist, a tuner, or drifter. I like to dabble into everything. I enjoy that because if I do want to paint then I can. I jump all around the game and that is what makes it nice for me.
Well then i wont be getting forza 5, i didnt pay £100 for a wheel that should work, its a simple usb its made by the same people (thrustmaster) its still an italia wheel it should be compatible.
And im sorry but i call BS on that be it MS’s doing or not, and to be fair it would have been nice if they made information like this known a LOT earlier so some of us didnt waste time or money.
I didnt know this info untill maybe the last two weeks or so and that was only after reading here, again as said allthough i knew about it i was interested to see if it did work because of the above mentioned.
If it’s only been two weeks or so, you should be able to bring back your wheel that will not work.
As far as it being a “simple USB”, it’s a lot more difficult than that. There are software/driver’s that are needed to operate the wheel and the force-feedback.
That said, there is no reason you can’t enjoy the game with a game-pad. However I remember your name from the BF4 forums, and I hope I’m wrong, but I honestly don’t think you were going to be happy with any answer that was given to you regarding the Xbox One or it’s games.
Im not sure i was in forza 4 forums tbh i rarely posted and if i did to my knowledge it was never abuse, and the point i was trying to make with the wheel was…
(Unaware of script code) for USB stuff i was under the impression it was the force feedback / rumble packs that were not compatable, not the actual wheel itself.
But now i understand what the other dude above was saying, With that said the only game i had with my xbox one was BF4 and i wont lie that game is trash.
Very broken at present and i needed another game that i could play and rely on so i did cave and i did buy forza 5, i didnt have anything against the game itself i was peeved about the fact that a wheel wouldnt work i mean so you claim its made for another console well if thats the case how come its also compatable with PC (IE) cross platform, so why not xbox one ? WOuld it have been that hard to do ?
And on the flip side i REALLY like the way the controllers work on here, very impressed and teh game is pretty sweet too.
So yes i wont lie i AM glad i bought it it certainly a shed load better than BF4 is at the moment.
1 question i do have about FORZA 5 and thats the game chat is it broken right now ?
I see mics light up but i dont hear anything and mine doesnt seem to light up green when i talk.
Using wireless turtlebeach for Sound / Audio - Game Chat via Kinekt.
Back in June, when the Xbox One was announced it was made very clear that last gen peripherals would not work on the Xbox One. This information has been out for a long time.
I’m sorry that the lack of compatibility is frustrating. It’s been frustrating for a lot of people. Unfortunately, it is what it is and doesn’t look like anything is going to change anytime soon.
I may have missed it but did Thrustmaster or MS tell you that the wheel you have will work with the new console?
I guess I don’t understand why MS or Thrustmaster should evolved their product around some accessories specifically made for a particular console. I saw a lot of anger over the whole Fanatec thing and people complaining that they spend a lot of money on chairs, wheels, etc., etc., so MS is going to be losing out when they go to the other console.
I don’t think it makes any sense to expect MS or Thrustmaster or any other company to spend their money ensuring your wheel that is designed for another console should work with this one. You are mad that your 100 pnd wheel won’t work and expect Ms to spend millions ensuring that it will.
the kinnect…use the head set. the kinnect picks up your tv so everyone has an echo. everybody can hear everything going on in your house…including people that might not want to be heard. if you insist on useing it anyway go to systems settings on the main xbox one dashboard under apps , then kinnect, and make sure it is set to use kinnect for chatting. but again if you get it working most people will put you on mute because of the echo and some will try to have you booted from the lobby. others will be even meaner. they’ll yell “xbox turn off…yes” when you use kinnect for chat your tv plays the chat audio. that reminds me, everyone in your house can hear everything that said in the lobby too. alot of the chat when a wreck happens you probably dont want the rest of the family to be hearing. soon i’ll be able to cuss in 6 languages. my advice is use the head set.
make sure you have your mic plugged in all the way. test it by hitting the mute button, the left side on the big plug that goes into the controler. it has an orange diagonal light on it that should turn on if its connected properly. next turn the volume all the way up, and it should stat beeping once it is at max level. i hear nothing when the mics light up green often. i think the mics are more sensative than the ear peice so it picks up higher and lower sounds than the ear piece is capable of playing. and other times the people are in a private party chat, they are talking, just not to us. ohh and once the light turn on be sure to press the mute button again so the light turns off. the light being on means the mic is muted/disabled so your green light will never come on. light off to chat.
One thing I did when testing my turtle beach was to go into a party chat to see if it would light up when I talked.
I then forgot about it after it worked and didn’t leave the party chat, just closed it. Then I went into multiplayer and couldn’t hear anyone and they couldn’t hear me because I was in a party chat by myself.
if a wheel wasn’t made specifically for the Xbox one, it won’t work.
on microtransactions, that is a myth pushed by people who don’t even like the OPTION to pay for credits to be there. the simple fact is: i earn money in this game faster than in any other forza, and all the cars in this game are cheaper than any other forza. the only difference is, if you want to, you can pay actual money to save a few hours of grinding for credits.
Yeah agreed i have found it quite enjoyable so far the only issues i have noticed were…
1: Engine sound when changing gear was glitching (sounded like 2 gears at same time) cockpit view. - 2: Public lobbys seem to have more idiots than “Forza 4” (Ramming in races & drift along with early finishes in drift mode). - 3: Voting system isnt very obvious it should have a better visual on screen (As opposed to clicking said persons name). - 4: The drivatars are worse than the previous “Forza 4” AI, and its frustrating having to ram force your way through or watch you butt because they actually RAM you even if you were clean. - 5: Game chat full lobby sounded like it had GLITCH FX from a fruityloops DAW, which was annoying because everyone in the lobby decided it would be fun to give me a headache with turtle beaches on (No way to turn down in game chat with out turning down game sound) through X42 tutrle beaches using kinekt chat.
So far though asides that in the few short hours i have played it no other issue’s YET, but none the less i like it even managed to get my first drift car Subaru BRZ A Class thismorning.
