Just throwing it out there that it would be great if it were just like le mans. That is tunable with damage on! As one who is just beginning to tune it would be great if we could find out earlier this time, so us more noobish tuners could prepare
if the new people need assists use them. if its the gt track damage wont be much of a problem, if its the ring, it’ll take forever to get back to the pits and getting around a car on the narrow parts when they have busted steering is gonna cause even more wrecks/damage. and keep an eye on the fuel/tires. its a long track. if you think you might not make the next lap dont take a chance…pit.
Based on the AVERAGE speed for LeMans, I would say S-class and up should be feasible on Nurburgring.
But to accomodate for average/bad drivers, it will probably be R-class (or even better) so people can crash, still limp back to pits and get stuff fixed.
When were the Car limitations for the Le Mans Events posted ?
I really need to know, because i can only take part on the event shortly after its launched. Thats a really tight time window, and because of this i got not much time to prepare a car for the race. Additionally i try to find a few XBL Buddys who want to join together with me, but they also want to know what to drive before they make their decision.
Well, someone created a topic for it here. But the limitations are visible on the Hopper itself and it runs for 4 days usually. Unsure how tight your schedule is but even between watching ACTUAL LeMans for 17H in total, I found time to run the Challenge and get a bit of sleep
That would make the most sense. Just checked out their site and its the full gp+nord(I’m sure you car guys already knew that, but I’m just getting there!) Now for my stupid question: The new audi from this car pack, and the bmw from last, do you think they will be added? or not so much. Guessing negative, but figured I’d throw it out there for conversation.
Best bet will be to practice the track as much as possible and tune a favorite car from each of the likely car classes. You might want to run a few laps in a stock-tuned car too, in case it’s like Indy or Long Beach with stock-only and no tunes. Worst case, it’s a new car for you, either play it with a popular tune or exit the lobby to go put a tune together, then rejoin and see if your tune is legal for the hopper.
But the track practice will likely make the biggest difference. I find knowing where I am is a bigger deal than knowing what I’m in… and I’ve never seen Nurburgring before last week.
I’ve been wondering about this too. I did some practicing this weekend and did some calculations. I am assuming the race will be on the Nordschleife. The reason for this is the badge. Look at the 2.4 heures d’endurance badge. It shows le circuit de la Sarthe. The badge for the Nurburgring shows the Nordschleife.
If you do 8 minute laps, you will do 20 laps or 259 miles. That is cutting it close. For someone with little practice on the Nurburgring, doing 8 minute laps in an R class car might be tough. The course is tough. Running 2.4 hours on it is going to be really tough.
If you do 7:30 laps, you will do 21 and a 1/3 laps or 276 miles. Averaging this for 2.4 hours in an R car might be tough for even someone with experience. To get the badge for the P1 vs the Ring you needed to run a lap in 7:15 and it is an R car.
I would expect the race to be set up so that an average driver could get the badge without too much difficult. I would also expect an experienced driver to do over 300 miles which is just over 23 laps. This means averaging 6:55 laps. I cannot see doing that in an R class car for 2.4 hours.
I would expect a P class car.
I have done some practicing on the Nordschleife. I was there for over an hour and a half once in the van. It took be ten laps to get the I can do that in a van achievement. I did a 10:00.2 lap on my eighth lap. I wanted to scream. On the tenth lap, I did 9:59.8.
I’m sure I’d could do the 250 miles in an R car but I don’t think I could do 300 miles. I’m not the slowest driver out there either. I did 495 miles at Indy and 347 miles at Le Mans.
Does anyone know how T10 calculates 2.4 hours to be 2 hours and 40 minutes rather than 2 hours and 24 minutes? Just curious. If T10 can set the timer to 2hrs 40min when we can’t, I’m sure they could set it to 2hrs 24min too if they wanted to…
