Love the tunes and the paints. My times are typical for me, so… until they get down to a respectable level nothing to post. (I did break 1:20 for both, set new PBs, and beat several rivals).
DeGrayOne, I’d still post your times. You get credits for posting any time, and you get to try out vehicles that you wouldn’t normally use.
I’m one of the slower drivers that regularly takes part in this and other HLCs that are posted on here and my times have fallen quite a bit in both Horizon 3 and Motorsport 6, plus there’s usually someone around to offer advice or help.
Add me as a friend so I appear in the Rivals list, and I’m sure the others on here wouldn’t mind if you added them.
Thanks hansonalanrob
I have been around since FM3 - just do not spend enough time on this. I will add you. The Challenges are great. I do them when I get a chance. Moss was my tuner during the poker run series. He made me a lot of grippy tunes.
1:12.472 on the figure 8 so far. I should be able to drive it down a few seconds. I had a good lap going until I over accelerated on the next to last turn and got a great drift.
Also trying to figure out the paddle configuration on the Elite controller. I definitely notice a difference. It is nicer. The paddles are great, but I learned I can’t down shift and brake with the same hand. Sure others may be able to, but I haven’t figured that out yet.
I had exactly the same problem, and compromised by upshifting with the paddles as I found this to be quicker and easier, but continue to downshift with the buttons (A+X if using clutch).
Unfortunately I’m not having time to run any of the challenges this week, but good luck to everyone!
Exactly the same solution I am working on right now.
I have top right for upshift and bottom right for downshift, but still find I prefer to use X.
I have left paddles for horn ( very useful :P). I am thinking about setting one of the left ones up into a look behind me trigger. (not sure how to do that yet)
Hey, the first one past me, nice job Wan!!! An extra 1mC for you.
Thanks for sharing your tune as well, that’s the spirit of these Challenges.
Tip (maybe), I originally went with a lot stiffer ARBs and the control seemed a lot better, but I wanted a more general tune to show people if they were newer to tuning. Not that I know anything at all, but I like my stuff.
Anyway, I digress, if you go all the way up on the fARB (65) and take the rARB to 46% of that (59.8) you can keep the Springs all the way down and still get good control on the turns and more softness on the bumps. You could also lower the Rebound then if you desire for more absorption on the bumpy section.
This is only good on flat(ish) surfaces like this one, once you get into more of a true off-road, the body roll is necessary to not turn itself over.
That’s my opinion and thinking anyway, but what really matters is how it feels to you.
