1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee *project*

Since I’ve now got an update for my Super Bee project, I feel that now would be a good time to reboot the old thread!

I’ve finally found a shop who’s willing to work around my low earnings, a shop owned by a friend of my father. I just dropped the car off today!!! Work should begin on it soon. However, progress will be slow, cos they’re going to do work in a “pay as you go” type thing, where if I pay X amount of money, they’ll do X amount worth of work. I can’t exactly drop thousands of dollars at a time, but it shouldn’t be too bad tho, couple hundred bucks every couple of weeks on top of my down payment should keep the pace above a crawl.

In the mean time… Old pictures!

Congrats mate! I wish you luck in your build. Remember Mopar or No Car!

Sweet! Should look great! The Vair hasnt had much progress either.

Back when Mopar was awesome! Just stay away from Fiat influences!

Thanks ^^

But I’m not really a “brand loyalist” anymore. I’m a muscle car guy, with some other classic car interests.

The Bee actually took a step back a few months ago, when moving it on the hill my dad accidentally put a dent in the passenger side fender.

I instructed the shop to shoot Fiat engineers on sight!

Are you sure you dont want to get the 2015 Dodge Charger Super Bee? JK but that is cool though

Work has begun on my Super Bee, and it is a bit worse than I thought. But the body guy says that he can take care of everything that has shown up, but I did get some good news in the fact that my torsion bar crossmember is in great shape.

cool man

Nice mate, keep us updated!

Small update,

The floor pan has been welded in completely, lower portion of the hinge pillar where it meets with the rocker panel has been replaced, and a good portion of the cab corner has been put into place.

Whats left of the body work:

Upper portion of the driver’s firewall section needs finished up, both inner fenders need patched, front portion of driver’s side frame rail needs replaced, passenger side cab corner - firewall - and rocker panel need repair work. That should take care of the front structure of the car, then it’s onto the back side of the car where the trunk pan and wheel wells need replaced along with the trunk floor extensions and quarter panels. From there the front fenders will need repair work, dents pulled and holes patched.

I’d say that the body work is about 10% complete, give or take, not including paint.

It’s been a long time since an update has occurred. If you’re an American you know it’s tax season, and I’m due back quite a few dollars myself. I have a couple other things I’d like to take care of as well, other than the car. However, if everything works out I hope to buy new metal for the entire trunk section.
