1.6 rally turbo

I prefer to run stock motors in most cars, it gets old otherwise hearing the same exhaust note on every car.

the 1.6 engine is boring, people just put them in an array of FW drive cars, like the c’eed, punto abarth, Vauxhall astra, that’s barely any to the amount there is, its boring, each of these cars basically have the same stats, like people say its just different aesthetically. I don’t understand this TCS issue, I tried putting it on but I must have been racing so long without it that it actually seems to make the car worse to me?

You may want to check a few more leaderboards. On some of the leaderboards there is not an FWD in sight but yes there are plenty of 1.6s though.

Bathurst and Road America come to mind where there are plenty of 74 Celicas and Fiats.

I’m not too bothered about the 1.6 - it is what it is.

Just seems a shame to have so many different cars and engines in the game, to keep dropping the same engine in.

I’m personally on a self imposed ban on all conversions. I can’t help but think engine swaps and drivetrain conversions really take away the character of the car.

I agree, I would find it quite boring to drop the same engine in a hundred cars, I have more fun trying to build and tune stock engines to the best they can be.

Same here. The only car I’ve built with both an engine conversion and aspiration conversion is the '79 Camaro. With the 5.7L and twin turbo’s it’s an interesting A-class car. I don’t know if it’ll be any good for leaderboard chasing or multiplayer lobbies, I just built it for fun, to make a Pro Touring style car. I’ve done aspiration conversions on a handful of other cars, (like the old VW) but not too many. I don’t plan on using the 1.6 Rally engine, except in the car it comes stock in.

On the same page here.

Aside, Forza will never be a balanced racing title because of the amount of modifications allowed on cars. In every iteration of Forza there has been “something” that has proven to be very successful. 1.6 & 5.7 issue may be addressed in FM6 but there WILL be something else.

The best side by side competitive racing comes from spec races using identically built cars + in lobby power adjustments for fast drivers.

For me, the 1.6l engine is one of the engines i cant seem to tune very well. I am fond of the 5.7l engine as it means i can use more oddball cars such as the Impala and Bel Air. But it is true, it does suck when pretty much everyone in D/C/B class lobbies use it. And i won’t deny it, i have also used it. But i find the stock motors more fun. Most of the cars i have tuned use the stock engine.
Though, the only exception to this is slapping one of these into a Stratos. It turns it from a good sounding car, to something that sounds phenomenal!

Yep, it’s a complaint. If you don’t want to read a complaint, click “back”

I race pretty much only C class lobbies, so this complaint is centered around that.

Get rid of the damn 1.6L rally motors. The fact that essentially the entirety of the C class leaderboards are dominated by ridiculous abortions of cars with 1.6L swaps is just preposterous. Cars like the 1974 Celica that’s currently making the rounds, cars that have to absolutely crawl around corners just to go blasting down the straight aways. I can’t really be mad at the people using these cars as they’ve figured out the best way to take advantage of the things available in the game, I’m more irritated with Turn 10 for making a game centered on circuit racing, and yet it’s raw power that is the best option if you want low lap times.

Leading off of that, now you’ve got lobbies full of clowns that have twice as much horsepower as they can handle, which completely ruins it for those of us that actually care about, you know, taking the corners. I have to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting these landyachts in the corners, ruining my lap time, and then they just go screaming down the next straight. If you do manage to get by them, they’ll just plow into you at the end of the straight because they fail to realize that their 3,800 lb monstrosity is unable to brake as late as you are.

Now before I get the “get good, scrub” comments, I do want to state that no, I’m not the fastest person out there, but I do quite well for myself (thank you very much) and have posted a fair few times in the top 200 or even top 100, although I sadly have to use the massively OP '97 Civic for most of those. Furthermore, I’ve raced in small leagues before and enjoyed it tremendously, but I have not been able to find a good league to join that races C class on a regular basis, so I have to resort to public lobbies.

tl;dr: stop using drag cars in C class, learn to turn, knuckleheads

Just so that people don’t think this wall of text was a random interjection in this thread, know that this was actually the body of an entirely separate thread that was, apparently, merged with this one.

I know it sucks but if the cars meet class restrictions then there’s not much that can be done. All the fans know what the fix is but were gonna have to wait and pray that Forza 6 has it

I know 1.6 motor is OP, but it soulds like your using the wrong car/ build for certain tracks. Sorry your easying driving Grip tune '97 doesnt keep up on Seabing. A power tune in C class runs 4.3-4.7 handle which it is far from a Drag tune.

The rally engine does not prevent cars from cornering well. Sure there may be poor tunes and poor drivers using them but a good driver in a well tuned rally engine car should be cornering quite well.

Yes the build often needs less handling upgrades but that does not necessarily mean a poor handling car when we are talking about C class.

EDIT: to be honest I have more trouble beating the civics than rally engines. I assume its because most of the best drivers I have come up against just happened to be in Civics.

That’s just how racing is, if we didn’t have power and weight restrictions in real life racing to prevent things like this it’d end up exactly the same way. I think the real fix for this is potentially having different hoppers that restrict things like power and weight along with the PI restriction, because having a pack of cars ranging from dragsters to 100% grip tunes on the same track just doesn’t end well.

OK, my turn for a quick soapbox moment:

The way I see it, you can focus on one of two things in MP:

  1. Racing in the cars you want to drive.
  2. Doing your best to get a win/medal/fastest time.

The problem, as I see it, is too many people DEMAND both 1 and 2 simultaneously. Then, they complain about LB cars. It’s like that song that goes “I want it all and I want it, now”.

I didn’t buy Forza to drive a Mini or a '74 Celica. But, since I focus on item 2, I know it is what I have to do to maximize my chances. I’m OK with that. Eventually, my focus will be more towards item 1 and I’ll be sure to drive a wider range of cars.

Besides, there are plenty of drivers who could beat me in a Yugo when I have the Celica. So, getting better is certainly an option, too.

I’m just saying - enough with the constant demands for instant gratification. Folks like that are the reason why I’m sitting around with $30 million in credits and nothing to do with them.

It feels better beating a rally engine in my E type Jag occasionally than thrashing the field in my Celica every race - I have tried both and the Celica does not feel that enjoyable unless I have to do so to get a close race.

I agree with this except my primary objective is #1, then #2. Occasional win is much more gratifying than winning all the time (to me, at least) and going for the fastest time possible (in that car) is also exhilarating.

You win more than occasionaly with your Non-leaderboard, non areo, non engine converison, no assist cars.

Im a no. 2 type I focus too much about putting down the fastest lap time.
