1.6 rally turbo

the 16 rally turbo engine is making this game not worth playing its STUPIDLY overpowered

Be that as it may, it does produce some really fast cars and some really fast times. It is a bit tricky to get use to, but once you do it’s pretty awesome.

Thanks is why I only use that motor for leaderboards and not lobbies

I made my peace with that engine long time ago. It is a blast to use it; but I prefer the stock engines.

This engine, and the 5.7 V8 I do my best to avoid using.

If you ask me, it takes the fun out of building and tuning, if you use the same 2 engines in every car.

I agree. It and the 5.7 are little more than a free ride to stardom on the LBs and pretty much ruin the game as far as variety is concerned. You can use other engine swaps that come close, or even some stock engines, but you have to look far and wide to do it and actually know how to build and tune, and hey, most players will always take the easiest path to quick.

Try the E type Jag and 74 Celica with original motor with aspiration added. I use them to good affect in the c class lobbies. The jag does need a lot of tuning and testing but the investment is worth it in my opinion.

Edit: the Pontiac Solstice is also worth a look with original motor, Buick, older Dodges all with original motors.

There alot great non rally cars in C class. You just have look hard.

At least its better than the awd madness in FM3 and the rev bangers that were not patched in FM4. I’d imagine those engines will be looked at for the next game and then something else will happen.

The two positive I see is not all are easy to drive fast with no assists and there’s quite a few cars to choose from.

The V8 doesn’t bother me too much but the goofy shifting with the rally does.

Better than 60% of times in the top 100 are using the overpowered tcs. When it gets nerfed and it will given T10’s history. Gonna be allot of drivers who wouldn’t be able to keep car on track.

Everything in the top 100 is overpowered.

If that’s the case why use tcs? Lot’s of other cars can run close, but with 1.6 and tcs it’s no contest.

I kind of agree, they always take the op thing and make it underpowered… i would like to see tcs only be an option in cars that have tcs as an option, but all cars should be able to turn tcs off. Or u can add a “chip” to make it so any car can have tcs or upgrade ecu etc.

I don’t think the people in the top 100 would change much nor do I think they would disallow tcs on some cars. That would be too realistic and assists are needed for those who play casually. Remember that this is a car game first, simulator second that shoots for mass numbers and variety of players but is also big on simulation, but really wants to pimp the car loving aspects and visuals and is truly about cruising and the cars…wait, what?

Swerve completely understand, thats why i mentioned adding an ecu upgrade or a chip to allow the car to be more technologically advanced… this would obv add power also, but would be a pi hit as it should be, just like the clutch upgrade etc. Make there a reason for people to run tcs off, right now the only reasons for running it off are more credits in a race (not needed) forzastats, or personal goal.

Wait, you’re suggesting T10 actually fix something in their game? Dreamin man.

Was meaning in 6 if there is a six.

Gotcha

Yeah it might be the favorite for leaderboard times but for lobbies no. You can make an array of cars that can compete in online races without these engines.

It’s not just that it’s overpowered.

It’s like the SUVs and vans. Yeah, I get that they can be fun and even legitimately used, but most of the time they’re just trouble. And how do people handle that trouble? By building SUVs and vans to keep the other SUVs and vans in line.

So, how do you deal with the problem of the 1.6? The quickest way is to build your own car with the 1.6. That, of course, means other people have to build cars with the 1.6.

I built a car with the 1.6 for that reason. I hate the 1.6. People say it’s fun, but it isn’t fun. It isn’t smooth, it doesn’t sound good, the powerband makes shifting a clinical experience… it’s not about the love of cars and racing. It’s about the need to win, and while we’re all competitive, the competition is best when we’re actually having fun.

The 1.6 has created a kind of Forza arms race along with the threat of mutually assured destruction. Why do I have the 1.6? Because they have the 1.6.

I only use it on two tracks, though, and only when I’m in a lobby with someone else who’s using it. It’s not an excuse or a justification. I don’t like doing it, but… I don’t want to lose just because some other guy has that stupid thing under the hood.

The 1.6 has its place, but it’s been sprayed across the canvas of Forza like a Jackson Pollock painting.

I’m addicted to Forza 5, and I really, really, really hope Forza 6 is more balanced. I wish I understood how T10 arrives at the decisions like these. One little engine that can nearly ruin the game for some people. How did that happen?
