The Touring car S40 has arguably the best sounding engine out there. Only rivaled by Nascar V8s and other Straight fives.
The S40 raced in the British Touring Car Championship between 1997-1999.
Its a super touring car, and it has a 2 liter naturally aspirated 5 cylinder engine with 300 + hp and a revlimit of 8500 rpm. It weighs 975 kgs, and its front wheel drive.

The blue S40 in the last picture is a rallycross car that only shares the body with the road going S40, its totally stripped on the inside, and its converted to rear wheel drive, since almost all cars in the Swedish rally cross class " Super-nationell " ( Super national ) were rear wheel drive, the engines were also based on the old cast iron block Volvo Redblock engine that powered 240:s, 740:s and 940 for millions of miles.
