One of the finest results by Japan’s early 90s bubble economy, the Eunos Cosmo was a luxury coupe, but made the Mazda way. That meant, of course the legendary rotary engine. The COsmo was available with the best of the bunch: the 20B 3-rotor, plus it also got the 13B with sequential turbos before the FD RX-7. Sadly, what could have been a legendary performance car was only offered witha 4-speed automatic to match the coupe’s luxurious credentials. The Cosmo remained a JDM-only model throughout its 6-year production run, but was meant to come to the us under the stillborn Amati brand. Mazda’s strategy in the 90s seemed to be “create as many different marques as possible”, as they had Eunos, Efini, Autozam and M2 in Japan, Xedos in Europe and planned to have Amati in the USA. ROtary engines are often said to lack torque, but the 20B had bundles of it with 400 Nm and was aid to be capable of 255 km/h, great numbers for the early 90s. Ultimately Amati never made it and nor did really the Cosmo, as the Japanese bubble exploded soon after its launch and even before that it was (and remains) the most expensive Mazda ever. However, considering there are no reliability issues or high fuel prices in Forza, and certainly no issues with money, the game seems like the perfect environment for the Cosmo to finally live up to its potential.

The Cosmo JC for its time was incredibly technologically advanced, featuring things like a CRT touch screen and GPS navigation in the early 1990s! This level of technology equipped rivaled the Mitsubishi GTO and the Nissan 300ZX, so the Cosmo should join them in Forza.
